Jets head coach Rex Ryan has never been one to mince words, but they are usually of the confident variety.

Today Rex made a humbling analysis of himself, and it’s quite shocking to be honest.

Rex admitted to the Newark Star Ledger that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a better coach than he is.

“If it’s just between Belichick in me, he’s going to win that battle,” Ryan said. “I recognize that, but it’s not going to be for lack of effort.”

“I don’t think I’m the best head coach in the league,” Ryan said. “I think he is. I was truthful about that.”

Ryan made sure to clarify that he meant Belichick is a better coach, but that he doesn’t feel the Patriots have a better team.

He’d never say that.

The Wes Welker Julian Edelman Conundrum

Wes Welker has led the NFL in receptions since 2007, but will Julian Edelman take his spot next season?Everyone knows Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is unhappy with the Pats for the way they have been treating their contract negotiations with him. This past weekend, Welker went as far to say it felt good to “stick it to Bill” after he contributed 13 receptions for 104 yards...

Rex Ryan admits Bill Belichick is the better coach

Shortly before the season began, Rex Ryan ruffled a few feathers by declaring himself the best defensive mind in football, eschewing the likes of Bill Belichick and Dick LeBeau. When it comes to being a head coach, however, he admits there’s no contest. “If it was just between (Bill) Belichick and me, he’s going to win that battle,” Ryan said, via “I don’t...

Pats secondary struggling for 3rd straight year

The New England Patriots are just 3-3 and the poor play of their secondary is a big reason. Only four teams have allowed more yards passing than the Patriots after they gave up completions of 51, 50 and 46 yards in a 24-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks Sunday. That continues a trend in which the Patriots allowed the second most yards passing in the NFL last season - even though...

Sanchez vs. New England Patriots

Florham Park, N.J.: Let's not waste time about how "big" or "important" this game is for the New York Jets.  We get it, it's New England. No need for Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick comparisons, or how Rex speaks as if him and Belichick will be on the field taking snaps on Sunday.Let's point out something that, may be obvious, but at the same time, isn...

Jets Defense Adjust to Patriots Offense

After last year's "year of the tight end", Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez became two of the most threatening receivers in the New England offense. Being in the same division as the best passing quarterback in the league, our very own Tom Brady, the New York Jets had no other option, but to adjust their defense to compete against this powerful offense.Last year,...

If the New England Patriots had drafted Tim Tebow

In an alternate reality, are Tom Brady and Tim Tebow teammates?A few weeks before the 2010 NFL draft, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow met and had dinner with the head coach of the New England Patriots Bill Belichick. Thanks to Belichick’s relationship with then Florida head coach Urban Meyer, he routinely met with and drafted many of their players. This meeting was different, at...

According to your bankroll...

Is there anything worse than being America's Team?

America can go get their own ******* team. The New England Patriots are NEW ENGLAND's, and specifically, Boston's team. Go cheer for the ******* Cowboys. I actually had this thought the other day, before Cromartie called them that, when someone on Twitter followed me and their profile was #LakerNation #YankeeNation #PatsNation. It was one of the most sobering things ever...

Patriots Key Role In International Series

It has been announced that there will be two games played at Wembley Stadium in 2013, an upgrade on the one a year it has been since the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants kicked off the International Series in 2007. As a NFL and New England Patriots fan in the UK, this is obviously great news for me. In 2012, the Patriots will make their second appearance at Wembley when...
