Last year, the New England Patriots claimed injured Tight End Jake Ballard off of waivers from the Giants, in a move that some people considered poor etiquette. Ballard had been injured, and needed to clear waivers in order to go to the Injured Reserve.  But Bill Belichick stepped in and nabbed Ballard, then immediately stashed him away on season ending IR in order to keep his contract, as well as tak him away from the Giants.  Turns out, it may have been a pretty shrewd move as TE insurance for the oft injured Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Well, the Giants now have the chance to return the favor. Undrafted free agent T J Moe signed with New England shortly after the April draft, but suffered a season-ending torn Achilles shortly thereafter. Now, the Patriots must hope he clears waivers before they can place him onto their own Injured Reserve for the season. It would be the perfect opportunity for Tom Coughlin and the Giants to return the favor to Belichick’s Patriots, by claiming Moe off waivers and holding him on the IR. Plus, the wide receiver could provide some insurance against Victor Cruz walking away once he’s eligible, as [...]

AFC East top 25, No. 1: Patriots QB Tom Brady--Boston.com

AFC East top 25, No. 1: Patriots QB Tom Brady--Boston.com: Why Tom Brady? I thought about just putting “duh” here, but that seemed like a copout for obvious reasons. Instead, chew on this: Brady is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for 34 or more touchdown passes and 12 or fewer interceptions in four career seasons. That’s twice as many seasons as Broncos quarterback...

Giants, Victor Cruz reportedly at a stalemate

According to Rotoworld.com, ESPN’s Ed Werder reported on NFL 32 that the New York Giants and wide receiver Victor Cruz are currently at a stalemate with their contract negotiations. “The issue here is that Cruz is one of the dominant slot receivers in football,” Werder explained. “But none of the slot receivers in the NFL rank among the top-salaried receivers. It’s all...

New York Giants: 3 Biggest Musts To Make Playoffs

With OTA’s still underway, the New York Giants still have many question marks entering into the season. Failing to make the playoffs in 2012 and with a head scratching draft, GM Jerry Reese and Head Coach Tom Coughlin must put the pieces together and somehow find the right fit to have a successful season. With a very favorable schedule for 2013, the Giants seem to be off to a good...

Patriots release T.J. Moe and Tyronne Green

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? In the New England Patriots' case, yes.. yes they do. As we already know, the team has no time for emotions when it comes to releasing a player who's hurt. We saw how they unceremoniously dumped Kyle Love, a player who looked damn good last season, as soon as they got wind that he'd been diagnosed with Diabetes. According to...

Was Gronkowski Extension Premature?

When the New England Patriots selected Rob Gronkowski our of the University of Arizona in the second round of the 2010 draft, nobody expected him to have the impact on the Patriots offense that he has had. Through three NFL seasons, Gronkowski has compiled 187 receptions for 2,663 yards an 38 touchdowns. Those are some historic numbers for the 24 year old tight end. However, it seems...

Are Rob Gronkowski's best days behind him?

In 2011, Rob Gronkowski established himself as one of, if not the, most dominant single offensive force in professional football. He was impossible to defend in the passing game, and an impenetrable wall as a blocker in the run game. When all was said in done, there was little questioning that the young Gronkowski had the best year in the history of the tight end position. He had...

Tom Coughlin angry with Hakeem Nicks for missing OTAs

Hakeem Nicks has yet to report to organized team activities with the New York Giants this offseason, and he has not provided an acceptable excuse for his absence. In fact, head coach Tom Coughlin said Nicks has not given an excuse at all and that he expected him to be there. While the workouts are technically voluntary, Coughlin is [...]

With Gronk's uncertainty, Jake Ballard is suddenly a key player

In Super Bowl XLVI, Jake Ballard of the New York Giants went down with a torn ACL, while his team went on to beat the New England Patriots. He has yet to play a game since. The interesting part of this situation was when the Patriots elected to take Ballard off waivers, knowing that he would likely miss the entire 2012 NFL season. Some speculated that it was a slight jab at the...

Caption the Photo: Sabrina the Teenage Witch & Eli Manning

The universe continues it’s cruel destruction of my youth’s biggest crushes. Lindsey Lohan, Amanda Bynes, and Tara Reid obviously weren’t enough because a picture of Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina The Teenage Witch) taken at a charity event this past weekend has surfaced. Melissa was the epitome of the girl next door for many 90′s kids and she is looking quite homely in this...

'Unrelated' tag not a positive with Gronkowski injuries

Earlier this week, Rob Gronkowski's camp confirmed that the fourth-year New England Patriots tight end will need yet another surgery -- his fifth since November, sixth in 16 weeks and seventh since his senior year of college. And in vintage Gronk fashion, the newest injury and operation is "unrelated" to another. Gronkowski will undergo back surgery for "preventative...
