On Tuesday we posted a video of Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson making a bet that whoever loses this weekend’s game has to shave off an eyebrow. Wilson was asked about the wager when he went on the radio with Dave “Softy” Mahler show on 950 KJR-AM in Seattle. “He’s going to have to shave off his (eyebrows),” Wilson joked, via ProFootballTalk.com. It sounds like the bet wasn’t real.  Wilson did indicate they’ll likely have some type of wager. “It was more of just a friendly, joking around type deal. It’s not real serious. We’ll probably do something digitally. Something like that,” Wilson said. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Mobile Quarterbacks: What Sets Kaepernick and Wilson Apart from the pack?

As much as ESPN and NFL.com want you to think otherwise, quarterbacks who can make plays on their feet are nothing new to the game of football. 100 years ago when football was in it’s youth, the quarterback we’ve come to know today was really just another running back.  Forward passing wasn’t even a big part of the game until a while later.  And even then, when pocket quarter...

Colin Kaepernick: Week 1′s Gem

To say the San Francisco 49ers lived up to the hype Week 1 versus the fellow NFC powerhouse Green Bay Packers may be a bit of an understatement. With their defense playing at mid-season form and their signal caller, Colin Kaepernick, looking like a 10-year veteran, San Francisco may have turned a few more heads in the home opener. From the very beginning Mike McCarthy’s Packers...

Colin Kaepernick: How Good A Quarterback Is He Really?

Donte Whitner: Russell Wilson is careless with the football

49ers safety Donte Whitner told Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports that he believes they’ll have chances to make some big plays against Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday night. “He does,” said Whiter. ”Whenever you play that style of football where you’re running around and some guys get open sometimes by (Wilson) running, you’ll give (defenders) some opportunities...

Report: Ref disciplined over call

The NFL has determined that the offsetting personal fouls penalties call in Sunday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers was wrong, adding a new chapter to the biggest Week 1 controversy. NFL.com reported Monday that Dean Blandino, NFL vice president of officiating, reviewed the altercation following Clay Matthews' late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin...

Referee Admits to Making Mistake That Gave 49ers an Extra Down, Led to Touchdown

Replacement refs weren’t to blame for this botched call on Sunday afternoon, but once again a call went against the Green Bay Packers. Referee Bill Leavy admitted to making a mistake during the second quarter of the game, in which the 49ers were granted another play they should not have received. After Clay Matthews‘ massive hit on Colin Kaepernick drew a flag, 49ers offensive...

Clay Matthews’ Stupid Play Highlights How Strong Packers Are

Arguably the watershed moment of Sunday’s Packers-49ers game was the Superman-esque hit that Clay Matthews gave to Colin Kaepernick. There’s no question that Matthews wasn’t just a tad late. The plane had already taxied onto the runway by the time he showed up at the gate. That’s how late he was. Kaepernick’s entire body was past the white out-of-bounds line and still Matthews...

Not a great feeling.Pick your reason for the loss: two turnovers, no pass rush, no coverage by the secondary, no tackling by the secondary, penalties, no running...

Colin Kapernick Can Be One of Best Quarterbacks in NFL, Geno Smith Needs to Chill and Other Thoughts From Week 1

ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski made the bold claim a few weeks ago saying Colin Kaepernick could be the best quarterback in the history of the NFL. At the time, that statement seemed ludicrous and it still does now, although maybe to a lesser extent. Kaepernick sure looked like one of the best, if not the best, quarterbacks in the NFL on opening weekend. He enjoyed his first career 300...

Packers D-line needs to dial up the pressure

The moment everyone heard that free safety Morgan Burnett was a scratch for the Packers-49ers game, most people panicked. The secondary did look awful. But that’s not the reason the Packers lost. The reason they lost is because the defensive line only recorded two quarterback pressures, and that includes a late garbage sack by Johnny Jolly. Colin Kaepernick was allowed to pick...
