Drew Brees is climbing up the record books these days as he is a TD away against the Chargers from breaking Johnny Unitas’ record for consecutive games with at least one TD pass (48 would be record).
Brees has spun it 191 times this season while completing 110 of them to 11 different receivers for 1,350 yards and 10 TD (5 INT).
However, Drew Brees does not line up defense for the 32nd defense in yards allowed (463.2) and 29th rated in points allowed (32.5).
New Orleans has been simply atrocious allowing opposing quarterbacks’ to throw for 276.5 yards per game, which is actually 24th in the NFL (hey, were making some strides here).
Philip Rivers has never been shy on the gridiron and he certainly will be mouthing off against a Saints defense that never shuts up with the trash talking, which to a certain degree is not a bad thing.
Still, Antonio Gates and the Chargers...

In that span of 48 games, the equivalent of three entire NFL seasons, Brees has thrown 115 touchdowns...

How sad it is that "Gameday!" just doesn't bring the same level of excitement anymore? 0-4 will do that to you. But at least we have the Drew Brees record to root for... that should take about half a quarter. I'm picturing that emotional high followed by, potentially, a long period of reflection in front of the TV while the game continues along the lines of "...
With the Detroit Lions on bye this week A.J Green is the number one receiver for week five. Green has always had the talent, arguably more than Julio Jones but Andy Dalton averageness has held him back from being labelled as arguably a top-two talent at the receiver position with Fitzgerald and Megatron. This season he has been the most consistent receiver scoring.

Two NFL quarterbacks could make news this weekend for very different reasons. Sunday night marks the New Orleans Saints' return to primetime, where they will take on the San Diego Chargers in search of their first win of the season. It will also be a chance for quarterback Drew Brees to rewrite the record books. The New Orleans quarterback is looking to throw at least one touchdown...

Start Em’ QB - Philip Rivers SD, Drew Brees NO, Alex Smith SF, and Joe Flacco BAL
Philip Rivers and Drew Brees should have a good old fashion shootout this week, both providing solid weeks. When Buffalo has faced a competent quarterback, their defense has given up at least three passing touchdowns so I would feel very confident inserting Alex Smith into my starting lineup...
