Since 2011, the Seahawks have suffered through an astounding five suspensions as the result of performance-enhancing drugs, more commonly known as PEDs. Defensive end Bruce Irvin was the most recent offender, and he'll be off the field for the first four games of the 2013 season. It's not exactly clear why the Seahawks are having more problems with PEDs than other teams, but it's imperative that they straighten out those problems quickly. That's why some of the team's veterans organized a meeting to attempt to stop the problem from happening in the future. "We had a meeting. The vets, we put a meeting together to talk to the guys about not making the same mistakes over and over," safety Kam Chancellor told Alex Marvez and Jim Miller of SiriusXM NFL Radio. "We’ve gotta grow up and move past that," Chancellor continued.  "So that’s pretty much the message right now, growing up and not making the same mistakes over and over." It's hard to tell if a meeting such as the one organized by the team's veterans will be effective, but it can't hurt for the team's leaders to stand up and say, "This is hurting our team. Stop." Something tells me their message was a little more elaborate than that, but the message was likely still the same. To find out if it was effective, we'll just have to watch and wait to see if any more Seahawks find themselves suspended due to PEDs. [follow]
