FOXBORO, Mass. — Since Shane Vereen broke his wrist against the Bills in Week 1, Nov. 18 has been a very important date on the Patriots’ schedule. That’s when Vereen is eligible to return and New England will be able to display its “full” offense. Of course, since Week 1, Sebastian Vollmer was placed on injured reserve with a broken leg, so we’ll never know exactly how good this offense could have been, but Marcus Cannon has been an impressive replacement so far, so we’ll have a pretty good idea. From Week 11 to the end of the season, there could be a drastic improvement in the Patriots’ offense. Tom Brady will have his normal third-down option back, Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski will get fully healthy and Aaron Dobson should continue to make strides with the playbook. The offense will need to step up, too. The Patriots have some tough defenses coming up on the schedule. In this week’s mailbag, we’ll look at how Vereen will fit into a Patriots offense that looked much imp

Week 11 Fantasy Football Weekend Injury Report: Shane Vereen

New England Patriots RB Shane Vereen is expected to make his season debut this Monday against the Carolina Panthers. However, Vereen has not yet been activated from the IR (the Patriots have until Monday to do so), which clouds his status for this week a little bit in preparation for a tough matchup against a stingy Panthers’ defense. The Patriots did say early in the week that...

Shane Vereen is eligible to be activated this week

According to the Boston Globe,  Patriots running back Shane Vereen is eligible to be activated from short-term injured reserve this week. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is looking forward to Vereen’s return. “As soon as he’s ready and able to help us and we are able to play him, certainly he will have a role in the game,” McDaniels said. “He definitely did...

Shane Vereen Will Be Game Day Decision For Monday

New England won't know the status of injured running back Shane Vereen until Monday. SOURCE: Field Yates, ESPN BostonFantasy Spin:That doesn't help fantasy owners a whole lot. Patriots’ Shane Vereen ready to return

In Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season, New England Patriots running back, Shane Vereen, broke his wrist on his first play from scrimmage in the Patriots’ win over the Buffalo Bills.  Vereen played the whole game with the busted carpus and had a stellar performance, rushing for 101 yards and catching seven passes for 58 yards.  That was the last we would see of him, until now.  Josh...

Shane Vereen Likely to Be Eased into Patriots Offense

It is expected that Shane Vereen will return to the Patriots this week, just in time for a match up with the red-hot Carolina Panthers. Shane's return could not be more welcomed at this point of the season. The Pats are positioned nicely at 7-2 but the Panthers are the team riding a five game winning streak and playing shutdown football on defense. The return of Vereen...

Shane Vereen Eligible to Activated, Return for Patriots Against Panthers This Week

Shane Vereen had a stellar showing in the Patriots’ regular-season opener. Then, he went on short-term injured reserve. Nine weeks later, he’s finally ready to get back on the field. Vereen, 24, has been practicing with his Patriots teammates for a few weeks, but he’s only now eligible to be activated from injured reserve. The versatile running back suffered a fractured wrist...

Belichick Says Vereen and Talib Will Ramp Up This Week in Practice

The Patriots are heading into a critical game against the red hot Carolina Panthers, and Bill Belichick is testing whether he can have all hands on deck for what may be the Pats biggest test of the season thus far. The good news is that the team could see the return of both Shane Vereen and Aqib Talib this week. Vereen has been on the injured reserve since Week 1 and Talib...

Since New England had a bye week, Williams never suited up for a game with New England. Williams tweeted at Chad Johnson asking for advice on how to learn the Patriots’ playbook on Thursday. He quickly...

Patriots Injuries help Patriots

The New England Patriots will showcase the likes of Danny Amendola, Shane Vereen and Rob Gronkowski on Monday night vs. Carolina unless the unexpected occurs. Those three names have never been on the same field together for the Pats and this Monday will change that. Running Back Shane Vereen is returning from short term IR and has been practicing with the team this...

Brandon Bolden's role will likely be reduced vs Carolina

Brandon Bolden has been a surprise this season with 38 attempts for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns filling in for Shane Vereen. The second year undrafted back out of the University of Mississipi has been a factor in the pass, run and protection game. Bolden's carries will be limited though with the return of Shane Vereen. According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe Running...
