Found February 14, 2013 on Phin Nation:
The Miami Dolphins season has been over for 1 and a half months now.  So the Dolphins front office and coaches have been busy trying to put together their plan for improving the Dolphins’ roster for 2013.  First up, we’ll know within the next couple of weeks, which of the Dolphins own free agents will be retained.  Then we’ll shift into what is expected to be a wild free agency period, with the Dolphins having roughly $46 million to spend.  Then, we’ll all focus on one of my favorite days on the NFL calendar, the NFL Draft. The Draft isn’t until the end of April, but the scouting of these young men will pick up steam quickly, with the upcoming Combine.  Then we’ll get into the personal workouts and Pro Days each of the schools will host.  So there may be 2 months left until Draft day, but there is a lot to do between now and then.  Sorry we have been away for a little while, but there really hasn’t been much going on in the Dolphins world.  Well, unless you are riveted by the Dolphins asking for public money to help rebuild Sun Life Stadium! Right now is the lull in the NFL offseason, where teams are building their strategies and players are on vacation.  Reggie Bush was recently in China and I think Richie Incognito was wondering around South America!  While we haven’t been posting, we’ve been working on some things behind the scenes to make the site a little bit better for you, the readers.  One thing we’ve done, is that we’ve added a great writer and NFL Draft Scout, Austin John, to the PhinNation team.  His first post will be coming up soon and he’ll focus on the upcoming draft and give you in-depth information on the top players in this upcoming draft.  If you are on Twitter, be sure to follow him @Phinfanalyst. So now that we’ve caught up, let’s get to the topic of this post.  It is not a secret that the Dolphins NEED to upgrade their wide receiving corps this offseason.  And while the Dolphins might try to sign a Mike Wallace, Dwayne Bowe, or Greg Jennings, the Dolphins might also look to the draft for a bona fide #1 wideout.  For those of you hoping for Percy Harvin, I’m sorry, but I don’t see that happening.  Instead, we wanted to share a few thoughts on Tennessee WR, Cordarrelle Patterson.  The first thing that stands out about this guy is his size: 6’3″, 220 lbs.  So he’s a big target.  Second, he’s an elusive runner with the football.  As Evan Silva of RotoWorld wrote here, Patterson could be a huge playmaker in the NFL. Mike Wallace The Dolphins’ No. 1 Target In Free Agency?

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald believes that free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace will be the Dolphins No. 1 target in free agency. Salguero has mentioned that Wallace makes more sense than Greg Jennings for some time now. Jennings spent time with Dolphins HC Joe Philbin in Green Bay and fills an obvious need for a receiver, but Wallace would allow them to stretch the...
