Redskins Hog Heaven:
Robert Griffin III
I'm ready for some football. Even though Redskins at Bills is a pretend game, it beats TV replays of games played between teams that are not the Washington Redskins.
Robert Griffin III is the most compelling personality of the rookie class. We have been comparing him to big signings of Redskins lore, but interest in this guy is beyond that. I don't believe that jersey sales for Newton or either of the Manning brothers shot to No. 2 sales before their first preseason game as Griffin 3rd's has. If he has any kind of success this year and next, we will reach for comparisons to Nagurski, Grange or Baugh for his marketing impact on pro football. RG3 is a media phenomenon.
Redskins Hog Heaven encourages you to keep your eyes off RG3 for the Bills exhibition game. It's tough, but our premise is that 2012 success depends on players already on the roster, especially players in their third season of Mike Shanahan's offense and defense. Look for evidence that these guys a...
BEST OF MAXIM
Rev Redskin woke up with the Redskins on his mind yesterday. He believes that Robert Griffin III will set the Redskins free, or so he says.
The video above speaks for itself, and you can't argue against the good reverend after watching Griffin last night. Sure, he had a slow start, but on his third drive, everything just clicked. Let's just hope Redskins fans are willing...
Looking forward to making his preseason debut, Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III revealed he has one apprehension.
Griffin joked he would prefer not getting hit on Thursday, when the Redskins travel to play the Buffalo Bills.
Good luck with that, because the Bills high-priced, retooled Mario Williams-led defensive line has a much different intention in making...
Rookie Robert Griffin III makes his debut for the Washington Redskins tonight vs. the Buffalo Bills: the same team that humiliated the Washington offense in 2011, proving the need to chase RGIII. Here's a look at the ugly statistical side of Thursday's pre-season slate.
Up to this point, Robert Griffin III has been everything the Redskins could ask for in a first-round draft pick. He is respectful to the media and fans and has never come off as cocky or arrogant. Like the rest of us, Griffin knows he could be a superstar in the NFL sooner rather than later. His preseason debut on Thursday night against Buffalo reaffirmed that, as RG3 looked impressive...
Washington Redskins rookie QB Robert Griffin III needed only three
passes on his third and final drive to show glimpses of stardom in
his much-anticipated NFL preseason debut Thursday night.
The organized team meetings, non sanctioned team meetings, and the summer training camp have come and gone for the Washington Redskins. This coming week the 2012 NFL season will come full swing as the first preseason games of the year will commence. This preseason will be very big for the Redskins as they pull the bubble [...]
Redskins fans are happy with Robert Griffin III’s debut performance against the Buffalo Bills. He did the big things well – 4 completions of 6 attempts for 70 yards, 20 yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garçon for the lead. He did the little things well – unflustered in the pocket, visibly surveying the field to pick his targets, balls placed where the receiver could get them...
…to start the preseason.
Tonight the Bills are hosting Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins in their first preseason game at 7 pm. The Buddy Nixon crew will be at the game doing our best to pump up what will be an understandably lukewarm preseason crowd. But don’t let 20,000 empty seats dampen your spirits, as the NFL regular season is just weeks away. We’re going...
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Washington Redskins top draft pick Robert Griffin III completed 4 of 6 passes for 70 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon, in his National Football League debut in a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium Thursday night. The touchdown proved to be all the Redskins would need in a 7-6 victory in a sloppily played...
Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic set a ratings record for NFL preseason coverage Thursday. In other news, competition from the Olympics resulted in record-low ratings for the PGA Bridgestone Invitational and a mere 0.5 rating for IndyCar on ABC. Record Rating For Washington Preseason Opener: Thursday’s Washington/Bills NFL preseason game, featuring the debut of Washington QB Robert...
Handing out labels thanks to the Skins 7-6 preseason win over Buffalo, with a little help from my friends Matt Terl, JP Finlay and Jack Kogod.
Robert Griffin III – The only portion of this game I was able to watch was a flawless touchdown drive orchestrated with ease. So, yeah, winner. Terl’s two cents: “RG3 [is a winner], partially for doing solidly but mainly just...
