Robert Kraft had his own “Sochi problems” back in 2005. When the New England Patriots’ owner visited Russia nine years ago, he showed Russian president Vladimir Putin his Super Bowl ring. Putin pocketed the prize and walked away. Kraft originally claimed he gifted the ring to Putin but changed his tune last summer. “I took out the ring and showed it to (Putin), and he put it on and he goes, ‘I can kill someone with this ring,’” Kraft said. “I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out.” Kraft said he was told by president George W. Bush to say the ring was a gift to the Russian leader. “I really didn’t (want to give up the ring),” Kraft said. “I had an emotional tie to the ring, it has my name on it. I don’t want to see it on eBay. Jim Plunkett, former New England #1 draft pick, was no Tom Brady

Throughout the history of the New England Patriots organization, they’ve had their share of draft successes at the quarterback position (maybe heard of Tom Brady?), but they’ve also had some failures. Not to be too confused here, the Patriots haven’t fallen victim quite to the levels of Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith & Tim Couch, but not all college stars have walked into Foxboro...

Jones went from six sacks to 11.5 from his rookie season to second year. There was speculation he could have been selected to the Pro Bowl or All-Pro team, but he’ll need to play more consistently in 2014. The...

Patriots Offensive Rookie Review: Aaron Dobson Should Break Out In 2014

The New England Patriots finally found some rookie wide receivers in 2013 who could contribute. After the Patriots didn’t pick up wide receiver Brandon Lloyd’s option for 2013 and failed to re-sign Deion Branch, the team obviously was prepared to rely on its three rookie wide receivers — Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins and Josh Boyce. The three rookies impressed so much in...
