Found October 09, 2012 on Waiting For Next Year:

As if the 41-27 drubbing wasn’t enough, a 22-year-old Heath, Ohio man stabbed his father outside of a Buffalo Wild Wings after the two became engaged in a disagreement over the contest between the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.

According to the Newark Advocate, Logan H. Knight was charged with aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony, after he opted to take a pocket knife to his father’s leg while arguing in the parking lot. The two men left their friends and family inside the establishment where they would proceed to turn their verbal altercation into one of the physical variety.

During the dispute, the father shut his son’s hand in a truck door. Logan Knight reportedly punched his father in the face then his father punched his son repeatedly, according to a statement of facts filed in Licking County Municipal Court. It was after the elder Knight was removed from the son that the 22-year-old branded, and used, the pocketknife.

No word on if alcohol was involved, nor if the disagreement stemmed from Pat Shurmur’s decision to pass the ball on a third-and-1 play from the Giants’ 25-yard line.

NFL News: Pat Shurmur Calling and Emailing Critical Reporters

In a column which preceded the unprofessional post-game antics from Sunday afternoon, Plain Dealer columnist Bud Shaw had a line item wherein Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur was called out for phoning and emailing reporters and columnists off of the record with the goal being to chastise said criticism.“Short of winning, though, [Shurmur would] do himself a favor if he...

Cleveland Browns: On the Bright Side

Is there a bright side? Sure! Just need to look hard enough, but you can find it!With all the negativity surrounding the team, 1 I thought I’d at least point out a couple of the good things that happened in the Giants game this weekend. I thought long and hard, but couldn’t come up with any on defense. So, I’ll lead off with…Joe Haden is back! Joe Haden talked to reporters...

Haden Back, Dimitri Patterson out “a couple of weeks”

During media access today, the Browns beat reporters talked to Dimitri Patterson who was still on crutches with an ankle injury. He also said that he will be out a “couple of weeks” according to Daryl Ruiter and others on the scene. They also got to talk to Joe Haden who is finished with his suspension. Haden was apologetic overall, but happy to be back with the team. Also Andre...

Pat Shurmur is confronting anyone in Cleveland who is critical of the Browns

The first two years in Cleveland are not going as planned for Pat Shurmur. His overall record in Cleveland is 4-17 and this season, his Browns team is 0-5 and has the dubious distinction of being the only winless team in the NFL.The missteps this season started almost immediately for Shurmur when he blamed everyone except Brandon Weeden for Weeden’s dismal performance. And now...

Browns LB rips Roger Goodell

Following the announcement of new suspensions for those players involved in the Saints bounty scandal, one of those suspended, Scott Fujita, laid into the commish with a scathing statement.

Insult to Injury: Shurmur, Browns Losing Battle off of the Field as Well

When he wasn’t interrupting would-be inquiries from the in-attendance media members following his team’s recent 41-27 loss at the hands of the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur was offering responses which floated back and forth between non-answers and downright condescension. Fielding questions regarding his in-game decision making, many of which were...

Giants’ Andre Brown tweets during yesterday’s game

New York Giants running back Andre Brown tweeted during yesterdays win over the Browns. Of course Brown ended up deleting the tweet since it’s against NFL rules. I’m sure the NFL will catch wind of this and send him a nice little fine.

Champion Giants just not the same on defense

Eli Manning has shown the New York Giants can score with anybody. It's the defending Super Bowl champions' defense that is playing catch-up heading into Sunday's NFL championship rematch against the San Francisco 49ers (4-1). Perry Fewell's unit has been very inconsistent. Take Sunday's 41-27 win over the Cleveland Browns. The defense allowed touchdowns on...

With the Giants' receivers hurting, Bennett...

Giants-49ers Preview

When San Francisco and New York met in January with a Super Bowl berth on the line, the 49ers committed crucial turnovers and their offense couldn't do much against the Giants' stingy defense. A similar performance seems unlikely in Sunday's NFC championship game rematch, considering Alex Smith and the 49ers are coming off one of the most impressive offensive showings...
