Found October 15, 2013 on Black and Gold Forever:
In a flurry of roster moves today, the Steelers placed offensive tackle Levi Brown on the injured reserve today which ends his season. Perhaps the Steelers are just not allowed to have an offensive line this year. The Steelers had acquired Brown in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals at the beginning of October. Here's what happened since, per Brown, the offensive tackle obtained in a trade with the Cardinals on October 2, has been placed on injured reserve without playing a single game for the Steelers. The Steelers expected Brown to play on Sunday, but he suffered a triceps injury in pregame warmups, and that injury has now ended his season. It is a blow to a team that has already had trouble keeping Ben Roethlisberger upright and establishing a consistent running attack. Further complicating matters is that the Steelers also placed tight end David Johnson on the injured reserve with a wrist injury. In their place, the team has promoted Isiah Green from the practice squad and signed free agent tight end Richard Gordon. What else can be said except, "Next man up!" at this point?

Steelers No Longer On Hook For Conditional Draft Pick With Levi Brown Now Out For Season

As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers will not have to give up the 2015 conditional draft pick that was included in the trade with the Arizona Cardinals for tackle Levi Brown during the bye week due to the fact that the conditions were not met. Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers reported Tuesday afternoon on Twitter that Brown would have had to been on the Steelers active roster for...

Pittsburgh Steelers: Is it time to bring back Max Starks?

The Pittsburgh Steelers recently traded for tackle Levi Brown. Brown was brought in from the Arizona Cardinals. The Steelers felt that maybe Brown could bring some improvement to an offensive line that’s look  bad all season. Brown suffered a pectoral injury during warm-ups on Sunday before the Steelers took on the Jets. Reported on Tuesday, Brown was place on injury reserve with...

Report: Steelers Were Going To Use Levi Brown Some At Left Tackle Against The Jets

It's all water under the bridge at this point, but according to Bob Labriola on the Monday edition of Steelers Live, the Pittsburgh Steelers indeed planned on using Levi Brown at left tackle at some point during the Sunday game against the New York Jets. While Labriola doesn't know exactly how much Brown, who suffered a triceps injury during pre-game warm-ups, was going to...

Steelers Will Not Be Giving Up a Pick for OT Brown After All

Well that was fast. The Levi Brown era at left tackle was over before it started, literally. Straining his triceps in the pre-game warmup before Sunday's win at the Jets, Brown has been placed on injured reserve and is out for the year. The Steelers had traded a conditional draft pick for Brown but according to the fine print of the trade, that was only if Brown had played...

The Steelers Acquiring Levi Brown Wasn't the Worst Player Addition in the AFC North

Levi Brown was acquired by the Steelers over their bye week to shore up the LT position notoriously muffed by Mike Adams. Adams was not available to play in the ensuing game against the Jets...where LEVI BROWN INJURED HIS TRICEPS DURING WARMUPS. The Steelers noted that Brown is now gone for the rest of the season. Levi Brown's tenure as a Steeler was so short that I cannot...

Some more Steelers roster movement

The Levi Brown experiment in Pittsburgh lasted one whole warm-up, and I'm not sure if he even set foot in the Steel City. Brown, a left tackle acquired two weeks ago from the Cardinals in exchange for a conditional late-round draft pick, suffered a triceps injury while warming up for the Steelers game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium this past Sunday. The injury is season...

Levi Brown is placed on I/R in Pittsburgh before he takes a snap

The Steelers have lost tackle Levi Brown for the season before he ever took a snap with his new team, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports. Steelers Place Tackle Levi Brown on Injured Reserve Two Weeks After Trading Pick for Him

When the Steelers decided to trade for offensive tackle Levi Brown last week, they probably didn’t expect it to end like this. Brown didn’t play in a game for the Steelers since the trade...

On Mike Adams And Job Security

By Matthew Marczi It was believed by some that the decision of the Pittsburgh Steelers to acquire offensive tackle Levi Brown from the Arizona Cardinals was made in part because it gave the team the opportunity to put Mike Adams on the shelf for a while in order to break him down without the pressure of being asked to play. Now with Brown putting himself out of the picture before...

Steelers Get Much Needed First Win

When you really think about it, this game just seemed to fit everything the Pittsburgh Steelers needed in order to get win number one of the 2013 NFL season. The New York Jets were coming off a short week following their win in Atlanta. They had a rookie QB going and historically Dick LeBeau does very well against them. Lastly, Mike Tomlin made good on his promise to sit guys who...
