PLAYERS: Steve Smith
TEAMS: Carolina Panthers
There are some things you don't ask the loquacious Steve Smith after his team just lost a hard-fought home playoff game. One reporter inquired if he'll be rooting for the Seahawks -- not the 49ers -- in next week's NFC Championship game, and ... yeah, it didn't go over so well. "You really want me to thump you upside the head? That was the dumbest question, and that's the second dumbest question you've asked," Smith said, via NFL.com. "I only cheer for one team. Actually, two teams. My team and my kid's team. Other than that I can give a bleep." Foot meet mouth. All that's missing was an "ice up, son!" In more serious matters, the Panthers' veteran receiver, who finished with four catches for 74 yards and a touchdown, addressed his playing time. Smith lit it up in the first half, but went the way of Casper in the second half, hampered by a knee injury. “They went man coverage in the first half, didn’t w...

  • Smith is nothing but a classless sorry ass piece of schit...he could have handled the question with class but he hasn't got any. So glad this moron was bounced from the playoffs because I never want to see him lay a hand on the Lombardi Trophy...he doesn't deserve to.
  • What is a giantsrepeat. There isn't a giant fan out there with any class at all. I've been there. They wouldn't know class if it was written on their wife's forehead. The rudest, crudest most unsportsman like fans in the NFL. Let's hope the only thing the giant repeat is another losing season.
  • Glad to see you finally got around to using the avatar name you signed up with so long ago. So I guess your a Carolina Panties fan...nice choke job in the playoffs. Have something to say when your team grows up and actually wins something Einstein.
  • Steve smith is a head case anyway. Ugly as hell too. The panthers think they are a lot better than they are. And superman is the other head case. Congratulations panthers for another below par season.
  • Let's see Panthers record 12/4
Giants record 7/9 Speaking of below par season. I didn't notice the giants in the playoffs. I'm sure they watched it on TV
  • Your right, they had an off season...no argument there, but they have also lofted the Lombardi Trophy 4 Times. And that doesn't even count all the NFL Championships they won before it was called the Super Bowl. When and IF the Carolina Panties EVER win one...then you can run your mouth. Right now it's best you don't do such a good job of validating your ignorance.
  • I think you all need to grow up, steve smith is one of the best out there in the nil. If he played on your team, you would all love him. Grow up all of you.
  • Maybe you like him pantyfan but most people can't stand the jerk and they have that right.
  • Like I said grow up and be a man, he laughing all the way to the bank.
  • So let Me see if I got this right....because he makes alot of money in the NFL it gives him the right to act like a jerk...gotcha....check!!
  • As usual , the panthers will watch the Super Bowl in their living rooms. Where was wonder boy #59 when they were getting their cat butts beat .
  • Now we have a Chokealina Panthers fan in the yard. Is it the troll GR? Scam Newton is the second biggest choke artist in the league compared to Nick Fools. It could be our stalker GR. There are only two teams left I believe in the NFL with ZERO Super Bowls. The Chokealina Panthers and The Filthadelphia Seagulls. This clown should bow down to a Giants fan.
  • OH there are others who never won the Super Bowl, but the only name that puts a smile on my face is the eagles having not won it.

Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers was once a top wide receiver in the NFL. While he certainly is a playmaker, his production is on the decline. Steve Smith can’t believe reporter’s dumb question (Video)

Steve Smith has very little patience for your idiotic questions, football reporters. Steve Smith rips reporter after Carolina Panthers' loss

The Carolina Panthers' exit from the playoffs means we unfortunately will be without Steve Smith for the next several months. After suffering a painful 23-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, No. 89 was asked if he would be rooting for the Seattle Seahawks in next week's NFC Championship Game, given how chippy Sunday's clash turned out to be. Steve Smith active, Jonathan Stewart, Carlos Rogers out

Bottom line, 89 is gonna play. Steve Smith is active for the Panthers for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the 49ers. And he won't have to face the 49ers top corner, as Carlos Rogers is inactive. Also inactive is Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart. The biggest news is Smith. With him playing -- as expected -- Cam Newton gets to target his top weapon and the Panthers...
