The Colts Authority:
Last Friday, on Colts Authority's "Eyes in the Backfield" post, collaborated by Nate Dunlevy, Todd Smith and myself, I made the following point:
4.Watch for the big play. Remember the Colts' last game against the Titans? Donald Brown does. The Titans' run defense is 24th in run defense DVOA this season, one spot ahead of Cleveland, who the Colts' ran over surprisingly easily last week. If Donald Brown plays this week (he was a full participant on Thursday), he could see some daylight for the first time all year.
Not to toot my own horn (okay, completely to toot my own horn), but I felt good about that one after Donald Brown had a pair of 19 yard carries on Sunday, and even Vick Ballard got in the mix with a 17-yarder of his own.
But, we know it happened, the question I'm interested in answering is why did it happen. The short answer is because Tennessee isn't great at run defense, and our interior line finally showed up this week.
The long an...

The Indianapolis Colts came back and beat the Tennessee Titans in overtime to move to 4-3 on the season. Andrew Luck brought his team back in overtime to seal the deal and get his Colts team their 4th win on the season. The Colts young rookie quarterback is doing things a rookie isn’t suppose to do. He shows the poise of a finally tuned veteran. Luck threw for 297 yards and one...
You've heard it before, but the Colts have been abysmal on the road this year; still, in an interview (curtesy of colts.com) Bruce Arians gives us a few things to watch for this week, things the Colts have been working on. Basically, this:- don't turn the ball over
- make big plays on defense
- make big plays on special teams
Logical, right? The Colts, to this point, haven...
Andrew Luck calls the game-winning play coach Bruce Arians designed ''really neat,'' and the Colts interim coach thinks the rookie quarterback was just fantastic.
Now Luck is off to a better winning start than any other rookie quarterback ever taken at No. 1 overall in NFL history.
Luck tossed a screen pass that fellow rookie Vick Ballard took 16 yards for a touchdown...
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Dwight Freeney told Dave Dameshek of NFL.com that he would love to hit Peyton Manning now that he’s no longer on his team.
“Peyton obviously is the staple of Indianapolis and this organization for years,” Freeney said. “I went after him in practice year in and year out and never got a chance to hit him. So yeah, I would love to hit him.”
Chuck Pagano Surprises Team With Visit -
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano surprised his coaching staff today when he showed up at work and attended the team’s coaches meeting. Pagano has not been with the team since he was diagnosed with a form of leukemia during the team’s bye week. Pagano was released from the hospital in time to watch the team beat the Browns in...

Andrew Luck threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Vick Ballard at 4:49 of overtime and the surprising Indianapolis Colts beat the Tennessee Titans 19-13 on Sunday.
The Colts (4-3) have beaten Tennessee in seven of eight overall and seven of the past 10 in Nashville.
The Colts did it with Luck leading a pair of 80-yard touchdown drives. The top pick overall in April's draft set...
There's something about these feel good, come-from-behind, last-second wins that make you want to forget the 50 minutes of warning signs and red flags, and instead dance around your house like Tom Cruise in "Risky Business." (writer's note: Hello, Ladies) Well, I love to dance, so there will be no mentions of a porous offensive line, a weak secondary,...
Colts cornerback Vontae Davis sprained his left knee against Tennessee, and the Titans had two offensive linemen hurt on the same play.
Davis went down defending Chris Johnson on a run on the opening drive. He stayed on the field for a couple minutes before walking off, and his return is questionable. He was replaced by Cassius Vaughn.
Later in the drive, right tackle David Stewart...
Hero: Andrew LuckColts fans have to be happy with Luck. How often does a franchise luck into drafting back-to-back Hall-of-Fame-caliber guys? There was Montana and Young and maybe now Manning and Luck.Indianapolis knew they were getting a guy who would transition into the NFL well, but there was no indication he would be this good so soon. It wasn’t an exceptional game: 26 of 38...
This week believe it or not The Indianapolis Colts take on the Miami Dolphins in what could be a game with serious playoff implication. Both teams coming off big wins and holding 4-3 records currently have playoff spots. If the season were to end to the Dolphins would finish 5th and with the Colts rounding out the final playoff spot in the AFC.
Despite very low expectations for...
