CHARLOTTE, NC - SEPTEMBER 13: Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Andy Reid, stands on the field during their NFL season opener against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on September 13, 2009 in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)

The 2012-13 Eagles season has begun like nearly every other season, with an uninspiring pre-season game. The aftermath of Thursday’s game I am finding to be quite amusing. (That would be the callers to talk radio already predicting DOOM). Not that the Eagles first-string performance was amusing offensively or defensively but what were you expecting? Offensively, the 6 plays that Vick ran before leaving the game STUNK! On defensive, the Eagles couldn’t stop a third down which is a concern but again, it is only the first pre-season game. SO LET US CALM DOWN!

The season is not lost and we won’t be in the Super Bowl if the Eagles pound New England in the next pre-season game. Andy Reid’s plan for the New England game is to have the starters in for two quarters which makes the game a bit more interesting to watch but not any more important. Having the players on both sides of the ball work on what they learned in camp along with evaluating talent is why these games are played. Now, if we are having the same conversation after week one of the season??? That’s when I will get worried but I will still reserve my DOOM and GLOOM.Similar Posts:
