The Good

Wait a sec! I’m pretty good at this!

Ahmad Bradshaw. Way to go Mr. Bradshaw. You were able to overcome a first play fumble, which can quickly banish you to Coughlin’s doghouse (see Wilson, David) and rumble on the extra porous Cleveland defense for two bills. Bradshaw only helped to cement his status as the #1 Running back in New York, even with Wilson actually being allowed to touch the ball on offense on Sunday. This is what Eli and Company need. An elite QB, a running game, a wicked pass rush and an awful secondary, sounds just about right. The Giants, after 5 weeks are the class of the NFC East, Even if their record isn’t all that great. However, unless something drastically changes in the Big Apple and elsewhere, don’t expect a long playoff run from anyone in the overly-talked-about, too-much-hype, NFC East. Eli can do most of it by himself, but in the pass first league, that secondary will be the Giants’ downfall.

The Bad

Are you not entertained?…Not really, No.

Victor Cruz. I hear what you are saying. “Alright, dipstick. Cruuuuuuuzz went off for 3 touchdowns, scoring on 60% of his receptions. How can that be “the Bad”??” I acknowledge that Victor Cruz had a tremendous day on the football field. I am so bloody sick of the dance. Every stinking time. He’s been salsa-ing for over year now. Learn a new step. Add a turn or a dip or something. The ladies love a guy who can dance. The ladies also love a guy who can do something other than the hokey pokey. And that’s basically what you do. The Hokey Pokey. Leg in. Leg out. Turn it all about. Please, Mr. Cruz. If you are going to be Eli’s featured wide receiver, since Hakeem Nicks can’t seem to get healthy to save his (or my fantasy team’s) life, do something else. At least Terrell Owens was interesting. Because it was different, every time. He didn’t constantly carry a sharpie in his sock. I’m tired of the salsa. Heck, it’s not even the salsa. It’s not even Pace Picante Sauce. It’s that stuff made in…NEW YORK CITY!?

The Ugly

I know what your thinking…Yes, Im throwing this to Trent.

Brandon Weeden.  Okay, old man. We need to talk. We need to talk about your safety net. It’s time to put on your big boy pants, take of the training wheels and actually do something. I know that your cast of characters looks like a made-for-TV-movie, but you need look away from Trent Richardson once in a while. Pass Rush in your face? Dump it off to Trent. No one open down field? Dump it off to Trent. Got a flat tire? Dump it off to Trent. If you are supposed to be the next incarnation of “The Triplets” (Josh Gordon does parallel quite well with Michael Irvin, at least off the field), you don’t want to run your franchise running back into the ground so soon. Get a couple years out of him before you ship him, and his bum knee, off to Arizona.

The Sequel

A new feature to GBU! How exciting! For each incredibly funny recap, I will throw in my two cents as to a collegiate prospect who should hear his name called in April by one of the two teams. What I like about the player, why I think he fits and, of course, all wrapped up in my unique blend of humor and genius.

Hey, lemme tell ya something. I’m the top Safety Prospect this year.

Kenny Vaccaro S Texas

Both these teams could benefit from an upgrade at safety. Cleveland will get better once Joe Haden stops being in trouble. The Giants will improve once Antrel Rolle is let go. He was over-drafted in Arizona, and overpaid in New York. Rolle is a liability in coverage and a substandard tackler.  A combination that will get you fired, quickly, in the NFL.  Kenny Vaccaro might just be the best safety in the upcoming draft; an asset in coverage and a solid tackler with enough speed to close and a knack for being in every play. Cleveland will be drafting too high to target Vaccaro (he’s not Ed Reed), but the Giants should have their sights set on this Longhorn, come April.
