60 Max Power O:
One would think that if you can stop the run, defending the pass should be easy, right? Obvious passing situations, no problem right? The Patriots defensive secondary is setting pass defense back centuries. Injuries are playing their part. The absence of Patrick Chung and Steve Gregory has Matt Patricia moving pieces around to help the safety position. Devin McCourty played some, helping with the lack of experience that aided Sidney Rice to waltz past rookies Tavon Wilson and Nate Ebner for the game winning touchdown last week. However, safety isn't the only concern as cornerback has become increasingly unstable. Moving McCourty just creates a big void at corner, thus the mix and match, not a full time switch. Alfonzo Dennard is the new hot name getting kicked around. The rookie 7th rounder from Nebraska has shown some ball skills along with a physical style. Ras-I Dowling was supposed to be one of the outside corner positions, but he's regressed to a point where he is rarel...
BEST OF MAXIM
When Dan Patrick asked Rob Gronkowski whether they would "crush beers" if the two were to ever hang out, Gronk denied ever "crushing" said beverage.
TAKE THAT, JETS
There were some very, very rich men in the Patriots' locker room following Sunday's overtime win over the New York Jets. Of course you had Bill Belichick, the NFL's highest-paid coach. Then you had Tom Brady, one of the highest-paid players in the league, and a guy who has made the GDP of small countries in endorsements. Then were the Krafts -- Robert and Jonathan --...
Following another game in which the New England Patriots nearly squandered a lead in the fourth quarter, Tom Brady finds himself wondering if the expectations among Patriots fans may be too high. Considering they entered the season with one of the easier schedules in the league, it is surprising that the Patriots needed a win over the Jets to crawl over .500. When asked about his...
Devin McCourty's fumble
nearly lost the game for the Patriots on Sunday night, but it was Rob
Ninkovich's fumble that instead secured it as a win.
After the Patriots kicked a
go-ahead field goal at the start of overtime, a battered and bruised Patriots
defense took the field to try and close out the victory. The defense answered
the call, but it was...

Rob Ninkovich knocked the ball out of Mark Sanchez's hand in overtime and lifted the New England Patriots into sole possession of first place in the AFC East.
The undersized defensive end got around right tackle Austin Howard and hit Sanchez high while Jermaine Cunningham got him low for a sack, sealing a 29-26 overtime victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.
McCourty may not be the shutdown cornerback many anticipated after a Pro Bowl
rookie season. But he's still a damn good defensive back.
was forced back into the safety role in the Patriots' secondary on Sunday, a
position played at times toward the end of the 2011 season. But even with some
prior knowledge, McCourty is still very inexperienced...
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots, who already lost three games this season by four points, were on the brink of another crushing loss Sunday. This one was coming at the hands of the New York Jets. Cue Tom Brady. The future Hall of Famer, his team trailing 26-23 after a disastrous five late minutes of football, took the Patriots down the field and into field-goal...
When Bill Belichick
led the Patriots across the pond three years ago, the result was a 35-7 rout of
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But Belichick admits that the transition wasn't as
easy as the final score might indicate.
This time around,
Belichick is much more aware of the situation, including the six hour
difference in time zones, and he's making sure...
The Patriots gained at least 350 yards for the 16th straight regular-season game, tying the St. Louis Rams of 1999-2000 for the most in NFL history. (Bottom of article)
A.B. Everyone in New England seems to be down on the Patriots right now. The local radio stations are filled with calls about Tom Brady being too old, Belichick losing touch, the horrible secondary and even...
Who's that standing behind Tom Brady? Is that Trump? Yes it is.Evil is on our side!!
