Season 4, Episode 18 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I certainly have a lot to talk about following the Pittsburgh Steelers season opening loss Sunday to the Tennessee Titans. We start things off by recapping the injuries and the roster moves that are forthcoming as a result.
As far as the game goes, David and I recap what happened on both sides of the ball and single out which players we thought played good and which ones we thought played bad. We talk about the offensive line and the running back situation moving forward as the team now limps into week two.
We certainly don't let Mike Tomlin off the hook in this episode as we spend the last part of the show questioning several decisions that were made by him that started with the pregame inactives.
At the end of the show we get to a few reader emails before running out of time.
As always, a few more talking points are mixed in over the course of the show.
Thanks for listening and don't forget to ca...

Love him or hate him, Pittsburgh Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin will give credit to the players when the team wins and will take the blame when the team loses. After the week one 16-9 opening day loss to Tennessee, Tomlin finds himself facing more issues and questions than perhaps any other head coach in the NFL.
Coaches, whether they win or lose, will always have questions to...

It was the first time head coach Mike Tomlin looked rattled. He carries himself like a proud lion. Brave, strong, and fearless in the face of adversity. This past weekend after the Pittsburgh Steelers lost 16-9 at home against the Tennessee Titans a team many expected the Steelers to beat convincingly, there was a different Coach Tomlin at the podium. It seemed he ...
Mike Tomlin will stick to his guns, and his running back, Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers' coach also updated injuries.
Despite only rushing for nine yards on eight carries in the Sunday season-opening loss to the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman might just make a second straight start Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"Obviously, he played a bad game, a lot of us did," said Tomlin when asked if he still has confidence in Redman, who fumbled twice...
With starting center Maurkice Pouncey now out for the season with a knee injury, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday during his press conference that the plan right now is to start second-year offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum at center Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"As we prepare right now, Beachum is going to be our starting center and we...
The Pittsburgh Steelers decisive 16-9 loss today against the Tennessee Titans is all the proof we need that this team is not the dominating Steelers team we’ve come to know. Mike Tomlin tried to convince the media that last year was just a down year and they would bounce back this season, but that looks highly unlikely after an appalling performance offensively.
To make matters...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference Tuesday and updated the health of the team following his opening statement.
Tomlin said center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) is scheduled for surgery Thursday after tearing both his ACL and MCL in the season opener. Inside linebacker Larry Foote (biceps) had surgery Tuesday morning, while running back LaRod Stephens...
An MRI Sunday revealed Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey tore his MCL and ACL in his right knee and will need surgery, confirmed head coach Mike Tomlin. Pouncey, 24, was carted off the field in the first
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu timed the snap perfect to sack Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker on Sunday. Via SBNation.com: The post Watch: Troy Polamalu perfectly times Titans snap count, sacks Jake Locker appeared first on Sports Glory.
Mike Tomlin stressed to Jonathan Dwyer when the coach cut the Pittsburgh Steelers running back 10 days ago that the decision to release the team's leading rusher in 2012 was not a personal one.
''We kept the guys that we kept because of the things they did, not because of the things Jonathan didn't do,'' Tomlin said.
No hard feelings, apparently.
When Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin ran down his list of injured players Tuesday during his press conference, fullback Will Johnson wasn't included. While there hasn't been much good news concerning the Steelers over the course of the last several days, the news that Johnson might just be able to play Monday night is great.
Johnson, who suffered a hamstring injury...
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin told reporters on Tuesday that they intend to stick with Isaac Redman as their starting running back for Monday night’s game against the Bengals.
“Obviously he played a bad game,” Tomlin said, via ESPN.com. “He’ll be given an opportunity to redeem himself.”
Redman’s performance Sunday was not only discouraging, but the loss of LaRod Stephens...
As usual, I will once again be tracking the TOX stats throughout the 2013 NFL season. This is simple stat, but its 80% win track record is hard to ignore.
In case you need a refresher, the TOX stat is a measure of how many explosive plays (20-plus yards) teams create minus how many they give up. It also includes turnovers forced versus those given up in a game. Both are added together...
Isaac Redman was named the starting running back today by Mike Tomlin. Redman had a rough week last week, he fumbled twice and picked up eight yards on nine carries before getting benched. “Obviously he played a bad game,” Tomlin said Tuesday. “He’ll be given an opportunity to redeem himself.” With LaRod Stephens-Howling (knee) out […]

It’s agonizingly difficult to find a silver lining in Sunday's defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, and even upon an extremely close analysis, there may only be a thread of optimism that can be found, and that is in the fact that there are still 15 games left to play.
An effort can made to minimize the loss, but it was a home game season opener in which...
