The expectations were high for the Philadelphia Eagles coming into this season, but injuries and underwhelming performances have them sitting at 4-7 with little to no chance at getting into the playoffs.  The predictable unrest amongst Eagles fans has boiled over and the chants of “Fire Andy!” are being heard loud and clear at Lincoln Financial Field, even if Andy Reid claims not to notice. With all that in mind, could this be Reid’s swansong with the Eagles?  Could they really fire the man that took them to four NFC Championships and the 2004 Super Bowl?  The Philly coach has been mired in losing seasons before and still came out at the end of the year with his job intact, but has his good favor with the Eagles front office run out? If that’s the case, if the Eagles are going to fire Reid after 13 seasons at the helm, I recommend they hire this precocious 3-year-old to lower the boom.  He’s clear, concise, cute, and not averse to some mild cursing.  I mean, look at that face and te...

Eagles Defensive Comedy Is Speeding Up Reid’s Departure

If the Eagles go to Seattle and are beaten by a bad Seahawks team it will increase the chances that Andy Reid will be fired.  The embarrassing loss to the Patriots surely gave Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner more reasons to consider firing Reid.  Lurie is from the Boston area.  He considered purchasing the Patriots. Chances [...]

Philly crowd chants 'Fire Andy,' but Reid claims not to notice

By Mike McDermottPhiladelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said after today's game that he didn't hear the occasional, thunderous chants of "Fire Andy" that rained from the stands in the second half of today's game at Lincoln Financial Field. "You don't hear a lot down there on the sideline," Reid said. "I didn't hear it. The way we played...

The Eagles should let this adorable child fire Andy Reid

I don't know if the Eagles are going to fire Andy Reid. They've suffered through 5-11 and 6-10 seasons with him before, and he survived those. Someone upstairs really believes in the guy. But if, at the end of the season, they do choose to let him go, they should hire this young fellow as a consultant (like The Bobs in Office Space) to come in and clean house. Even if he...

NFL NOTEBOOK: Reid in bull's-eye after Philadelphia failures

"Fire Andy! Fire Andy!" Each demanding chant bellowed by fed-up Eagles fans was the most emphatic sign yet that the faithful have turned for good on coach Andy Reid. Reid, who led Philadelphia to five NFC championship games, has been booed and criticized, with calls to talk radio asking for him to resign or for management to can him. But never had they voiced their displeasure like this.

NFL Preview - Philadelphia (4-7) at Seattle (4-7) (ET)

The Philadelphia Eagles have often performed their best in December under Andy Reid. The expected Super Bowl contenders will be hoping that trend continues, as they enter the month with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread heading into a critical Thursday night tussle with the Seattle Seahawks from CenturyLink Field.

A Photoshop look at the Philadelphia Eagles’ season to date

After the NFL lockout ended, the Philadelphia Eagles went to town and signed several free agents, which made them the talk of the NFL. Among the signings was coveted cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha. You see, Eagles owner Jeff Lurie made available some cash for the free agents. But after it was over (or before), the Eagles ran out of money and gave Head coach Andy Reid a sure...

Loss reveals plenty about struggling Eagles

Michael Vick likely out vs. Seattle

Eagles head coach Andy Reid said that the injured QB will not practice Tuesday, making it highly unlikely he will play Thursday night against the Seahawks.

WR Jackson to start for Eagles Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid said wide receiver DeSean Jackson will be in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson was benched in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to New England after dropping his third pass of the game. It has been a turbulent season for Jackson, who has been unhappy over the team's unwillingness to sign...

McCoy Needs To Step Up And Play Better For Eagles To Win

In case you have been under a rock, a growing issue in the city has been Andy Reid's play calling, especially when it comes to giving carries to LeSean McCoy. People have called radio stations about it. They have written about it. And yes, they have even made t-shirts about it. While their is no question that McCoy needs to see the ball more, an issue that no one has been talking...
