Since the 2004 season, the Chicago Bears have had Lovie Smith as their head coach.  In those nine seasons, the Chicago Bears have enjoyed some moderate success, particularly early in Smith's tenure. Two of the first three seasons with Lovie at the helm saw the Bears win back to back NFC North division titles, the 2006 NFC Championship, and a loss to the Colts and Peyton Manning in Super Bowl 41.  However since the 2006 season the Chicago Bears have only won the division once (2010), and had one playoff appearance in which they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the 2010 NFC title game. With that little bit of success put aside, Lovie's tenure has been filled with teams that had high expectations coming into the season only to leave the Chicago fans very disappointed come January.  Oftentimes the blame of this disappointment goes to the injuries that the team has suffered.  That is a pretty pathetic excuse as every team in the NFL has to deal with injuries, especially late in the season...
