All Personal Vendetta’s aside, Chris Johnson will be a top fantasy option in 2012.
The 2011 season was not a great one for Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson. Despite the fact that he got a rich new contract after a lengthy holdout last offseason, Johnson ran with little enthusiasm or effort to start the season causing some to give up on him, myself included.
The truth is I became so frustrated and felt so betrayed by Johnson’s pitiful performance, he became the top player on my personal dead to me list. I no longer wanted him on my team or in my lineup. After all in the first eight games of the season, Johnson averaged just 45 rushing yards per game, while also added 27 receptions for an average of 20 receiving yards per game.
The real killer though was that Johnson had scored just one touchdown up to that point in the season. Personally, the last straw for me was when Johnson had a dream matchup against the woeful Colts, who were giving up fantasy points to ever...

Titans feel prepared for camp with full offseason
The Tennessee Titans believe they already have a big advantage heading into their second training camp with coach Mike Munchak. This time around, they actually had an offseason together.
''A year ago, we didn't know what Chris Johnson was,'' offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said. ''We didn't know what Kenny Britt was. We didn't know if Matt...
Titans could decide to move on from Kenny Britt

Mike Patton of TitanInsider.com believes there’s a chance that the Tennessee Titans could end up deciding at some point to move on from wide receiver Kenny Britt with all his off the field problems and his inability to stay healthy.
“Don’t be surprised if the Titans begin getting plans together to move on with or without Britt,” wrote Patton. ”The decision...
Titans Notebook: RB Johnson sets lofty goal
Running back Chris Johnson said his goal is to rush for at least 2,000 yards, which he accomplished in 2009.
Said Johnson, "I feel like a lot of people have written me off. I still went over 1,000 yards (last season) but it wasn't a CJ2K year. So a lot of people are going to write me off. ... I want to be the first one to do it twice, that's certainly a goal of mine...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Titans have placed Kenny Britt on the physically unable to perform list as the receiver recovers from his third surgery on his knees within the past 10 months.

Akeem Ayers to line up as a pass rusher regularly for Titans
According to the Nashville Tennessean, Titans linebacker Akeem Ayers will line up as a pass rusher regularly this season. The 2011 2nd round pick has spent the offseason working out with pass rush technique specialist Keith Millard. At 6-3 254, with good athleticism, he has all the tools to be a pass rusher and was noted for his above average blitzing ability coming out of UCLA last...
Titans' Britt placed on PUP list
Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Britt had reconstructive right knee surgery in October 2011 after tearing the ACL and MCL in September against the Broncos. Britt had a "routine clean-up" in May according to general manager Ruston Webster, and an arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in June. Britt must...
Matt Hasselbeck Opens Camp as Starter
Matt Hasselbeck opened training camp as Tennessee's starting quarterback, according to their official team website.
Fantasy Spin:
The veteran will see fierce competition from second-year pro Jake Locker though, and the strong-armed and athletic Washington product would hold far more fantasy upside if he ultimately overtakes Hasselbeck for the job.
Titans Workout Free Agent QB Kyle Boller
The Tennessee Titans worked out veteran quarterback Kyle Boller on Tuesday. The Titans have Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker at the top with third-year pro Rusty Smith and undrafted rookie Nick Stephens on the roster as well. Chances are, the Titans are simply looking around to see if either player fits a need, upgrades them in any way or could be part of an emergency list if an injury...
More on Kamerion Wimbley's potential role in the defense
After yesterday's post looking in more depth at Kamerion Wimbley's personal attributes as a pass rusher, it's worth spending some time looking at how he might fit in the defense. With Jerry Gray's comments that he spent much of 2011 running mostly a Chuck Cecil defense, it's tough to say exactly what Gray will do. We can look at old materials, but we don't...

On Akeem Ayers, part two
I started with Akeem Ayers yesterday, writing about why I wanted to write about him and giving a bit of an in-depth look at his play in the Week 12 game against the Buccaneers. For this post, I also watched in detail his performance against the Broncos in Week 3 and his day against the Jaguars in Week 16.In those two games, I saw the same general mix of good and bad. Neither the...
