Turn On The Jets:
New York Jets
New York Giants
In the coming months there will be no shortage of additions to the New York Jets roster, which currently is closer to resembling a CFL team than a competitive NFL team. In today’s 12 pack we are going to sort through every position and outline our “wish list,” “most likely,” and “long shot” outcome for the Jets in free agency, mindful of the salary cap situation. We will also go over a handful of draft prospects they could consider at each position. Let’s have a look -
Wish List - Matt Moore - Cheap player who has been productive with limited opportunities around the league. He can manage an offense and is an ideal stop-gap while the Jets yet again begin the search for a franchise quarterback.
Most Likely - Tavaris Jackson - Will be even cheaper than Moore and has ties to new GM John Idzik, who is apparently a big fan of him. Jackson has flashed at times in Minnesota and Seattle but has been generally inconsistent.
Long Shot - Matt Flynn - More of a “name” guy who wi

In a previous article this off-season, we discussed the necessary components of a rebuilding process for the New York Jets. When citing an example from how they quickly turned a disastrous 2005 season into a productive 2006, we mentioned younger players “making the jump” and having career years. A few examples of this in 2006 were Jerricho Cotchery becoming a capable, productive...

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has filled out his coaching staff by hiring Brian VanGorder as linebackers coach and Bobby April III as a defensive quality-control coach.
VanGorder replaces longtime assistant Bob Sutton, who left to become Kansas City's defensive coordinator. VanGorder was Auburn's defensive coordinator last season after spending the previous four seasons in...

There’s been plenty made about the Jets current financial predicament, but if they can save that much money by releasing...
In continuation with our positional breakdowns of potential NFL Draft prospects for the New York Jets, we turn our attention to a position that, although very promising, will almost surely need some added depth this offseason. Today, our draft team provides a breakdown of the top five potential interior defensive linemen that could be selected by the Jets in April’s draft. These...
With Shonn Greene entering free agency, addressing the running back position will become a top priority for Gang Green. As Rex Ryan and company evaluate their options, the Jets' front office may flirt with the idea of bringing a former Giant great to the other side of the New York football rivalry.
The Chiefs have signed free agent wide receiver Mardy Gilyard, per Gilyard's twitter account.
Gilyard was the 99th overall selection of the 2010 draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played in just 11 games for the Rams in 2010 and finished his rookie season with 6 receptions for 63 yards.
He was released by the Rams the following season during final cut downs after the last...
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist Woody Johnson owns the New York Jets, so he's no stranger to making big proclamations. Consider this one, just after the New York area won the bid for the first Super Bowl in an outdoor stadium in a cold weather market.
''I like doing things for the first time,'' Johnson said. ''I hope it snows...
A few minutes ago, over my lunch break at school, I happened upon an article claiming there may not be a halftime show at the 2014 Super Bowl, due to the possible weather conditions on game day. As a New Jersey native myself, I was appalled by the article written by, it seems, somebody who’s never come to New Jersey and possibly somebody who doesn’t know Metlife Stadium is not...
If you’ve been paying attention to the news the past few days, you know that there is a manhunt going on in LA for a former LAPD officer and Naval reservist, Christopher Dorner. Dorner is accused of killing a couple on Super Bowl Sunday with revenge as the motive for what he deems as unfair actions brought upon him by the LAPD. He’s also been linked to the ambush of three officers...
An ex-Los Angeles cop and accused killer at the center of a California manhunt wrote "goodbye" messages to a variety of celebrities on his personal website before allegedly murdering three people — including an L.A. police officer — according to TMZ.com.
One of the reported messages was addressed to New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow.
Christopher Dorner is...
The New York Jets have a new defensive coordinator in Dennis Thurman. They now have an old defensive coordinator, too. Thursday, Gang Green hired former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder as the team's linebackers coach. VanGorder held the coordinator position with Atlanta from 2008-11 before assuming the same role at Auburn last year.VanGorder will replace...
The NFL season is now officially over and with the Ravens parading around Baltimore with their Lombardi Trophy hoisted high above, the entire league’s attention now turns to the offseason.
With all of the college all-star games now behind us and the NFL combine still two weeks off, projections for the NFL Draft can stand pretty still. So, before jumping into the madness of this...
