Found December 04, 2012 on Steelers Depot:
The newest media release for the Pittsburgh Steelers is now out for the upcoming Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers and the included depth chart shows no changes from last week as both Mike Wallace and Emmanuel Sanders are still listed as co-starters opposite Antonio Brown and Rashard Mendenhall remains listed as the third string running back. Despite the perceived demotion last week, Wallace was on the field for the Steelers opening offensive play, but he did wind up playing less snaps than both Sanders and Brown did in the game nonetheless. Mendenhall was made inactive on Sunday Read more [...]

Ebb And Flow Will Likely Result In Rashard Mendenhall Being Gone In 2013

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin made it clear on Tuesday that the running back depth chart would not change this week and that former first round draft pick Rashard Mendenhall would have to wait for his next opportunity, if it ever comes. Mendenhall was one of the 7 inactive players this past week against the Baltimore Ravens and appears to be headed for that same fait...

Roethlisberger, Ray Lewis had heart-to-heart before game

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been sidelined with a shoulder injury and dislocated rib for the past three games. On Wednesday, Roethlisberger told USA TODAY Sports: "I can play with pain. I'll give it everything I've got. Pain is not an issue for me. It's about performance and how hard can I throw the ball? How far can I throw the ball?...

Fantasy Football News – Rashard Mendenhall Healthy Scratch for Week 13

Fantasy Football News - The Pittsburgh Steelers have inactivated Rashard Mendenhall for Week 13. He was not listed on any injury report. FFLockerRoom Take - Well if you haven’t seen the writing on the wall, you have now. Mendenhall is no longer considered the future of the Steelers backfield. If you have him in your lineup (let’s hope you don’t) get him out now. While we don’t...

Charlie Batch hits sound guy's microphone with bad pass (Video)

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch hit a microphone held by a sound guy in the back of the end zone while overthrowing receiver Mike Wallace during Sunday's NFL game against the Baltimore Ravens. Batch either made a terrible throw or displayed incredible accuracy, depending on your point of view on this play. H/T OTB. Visit us at

Two Best Friends, Two Different Positions, Two Possible Former Teammates?

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace and cornerback Keenan Lewis attended the same high school and have been best friends their entire lives. In a report by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette after the 2009 NFL Draft, he chronicles the duos path from high school to both being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round. Although the Steelers did not make...

Rashard Mendenhall Down, Still No Word Who Starts at Left Guard

The Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to dress eight offensive linemen for the first time this season, but there is still no word who will start at left guard even though Willie Colon is dressed and active. Colon was only able to practice on a limited basis on Friday and was the last linemen out the locker room for warm-ups prior to kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens. The speculation...

Writing on the wall for Byron Leftwich and Rashard Mendenhall?

You don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to rationally think to yourself that both Rashard Mendenhall and Byron Leftwich may very well be looking at their last season in a Steelers uniform. Given the production of both players this season, or lack thereof, the lack of playing time post injury, and the recent updates by Mike Tomlin in his Tuesday press conference this week, things...

Steelers’ “Young Money Crew” Needs a Credit Check

I find it almost humorous how quickly articles can change in my mind through the course of a Pittsburgh Steelers’ football game. There were so many things to be critical of as the game wore on yesterday as the Steelers seemed headed for a third straight loss. Despite the fact they won yesterday, I can’t sit here today and wax poetically about everything I saw. In my mind, Mike...

Rashard Mendenhall is Inactive

Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall is inactive for Week 13 against division rival Baltimore.Fantasy Spin:Mendenhall wasn't listed on the injury report making this a confusing healthy scratch. The Steelers will use Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman.

Tomlin: Mendenhall will remain on Steelers bench

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has found himself in the doghouse and will once again be a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers. Mendenhall, once a Super Bowl starter with an 1,100 and 1,200-yard season under his belt, is now behind running backs Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman on the depth chart with no opportunity to move up...

Dwyer To Start Against Chargers; Mendenhall Headed For Inactive List Again

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mile Tomlin said Tuesday during his weekly press conference that running back Jonathan Dwyer will make his fourth start of the season on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers and that he will be backed up once again by Isaac Redman. Tomlin also hinted that Rashard Mendenhall will likely be inactive for a second straight week in addition. "We don...

Time is Now for Haley’s Offense

In the final four weeks of the 2012 National Football League season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have three of their final four games at home. The three home game opponents are a combined 7-11 on the road with Cincinnati being a surprising 4-2 away from ‘Heinz Field West.’ One stat which I know I cringe at every time I see it is that this week’s opponent San Diego, is 0-14...

Ravens head to the locker room with the lead

On their final drive of the half, the Steelers got within seven points of the Ravens, but it could have been worse. On an offsides penalty by Haloti Ngata, quarterback Charlie Batch threw the ball to Mike Wallace. However, Wallace dropped the ball. Later that drive, Wallace was wide open, but Batch overthrew his receiver. Pittsburgh settled for a field goal and the Ravens have a...

Steelers Injury Report: Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was able to practice once again yesterday and all signs seem to be pointing toward him starting Sunday against the San Diego Charges, according to the AssociatedPress, while wide receivers Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown are also expected to play this weekend. Tomlin declined to name Roethlisberger the starter against the reeling...

Steelers Winners And Losers – Week 13 – Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens 23-20 Sunday to move their record 7-5 on the season. Below are the players, or group of players, that I thought had winning and losing performances in the game. Charlie Batch - Batch provided the best 25-of-36 game of his career Sunday as he threw for 276 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Sure, he missed a wide open Mike...
