Found October 19, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Cecil Shorts is dealing with a very painful sprained sternoclavicular (SC) joint, which is leaving his status for Week 7 as a game time decision. Shorts has been dealing with significant pain all week, even needing help putting on his jersey and not being able to sleep due to the severe pain. Shorts remains confident that he will play on Sunday, so last minute checks of the inactive report will tell us all we need to know about his availability. Injury Outlook: Shorts’ injury was to the SC joint, which is the joint where the medial portion of the clavicle (collar bone) meets the sternum (chest bone). If you remember, this is the joint that Danny Amendola dislocated last year that caused him to miss multiple weeks. Although Shorts’ injury is not that severe, this is the type of injury that requires quite a bit of pain tolerance because, although there isn’t a ton of motion that occurs at this joint, it moves and is stressed every time the shoulder moves. ...

Jaguars Injury Report: Justin Blackmon, Blaine Gabbert, Cecil Shorts

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the San Diego Chargers this Sunday and may be without a few key players. Chad Henne will get the start again at quarterback with Blaine Gabbert already ruled out because of a hamstring injury. But the Jaguars may also be without their two starting wide receivers, Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts. Both Blackmon and Shorts will be game-time decisions...

Justin Blackmon Lights Up Unsuspecting Security Guard Near End Zone During Jaguars Game(GIF)

One unsuspecting security guard was just doing his job on Saturday afternoon, but the man with “S.A.F.E.” written across his back was anything but that during the Jaguars game. Justin Blackmon was trying to reel in a touchdown pass during the third quarter when his momentum carried him right out of the end zone and straight into a security guard, who unfortunately had his back...

Justin Blackmon runs over security guard at Jaguars-Chargers game (GIF)

An unsuspecting rent-a-cop was bowled over by Jacksonville wide receiver Justin Blackmon during the Jaguars’ 24-6 loss to the Chargers on Sunday — and the second-year wide receiver didn’t even help the poor guy up. Blackmon was chasing down a would-be touchdown pass from Jags quarterback Chad Henne, but the 6-foot-1, 210-pound wideout was out of bounds when he caught...

Jaguars News and Notes: Blackmon, Shorts Expected to Play; Sanders Ruled Out

The Jaguars Cecil Shorts might be listed as “questionable” by head coach Gus Bradley, but the team’s leading receiver seems to think he will be ready for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.“Shorts, whose status for Sunday has been in doubt all week because of a sprained SC (shoulder) joint, worked on a limited basis Friday as the Jaguars went through their last...

Jags seek their first win against the Chargers

If I didn’t know any better, I would have guessed the Jacksonville Jaguars would have won last week against the Denver Broncos. Of course that is not the case, but listening to talk radio and the excellent reviews that the all-hallowed ESPN gave them, you would have thought that they might have pulled out a squeaker. There were some good things happening to be sure, and watching...

Cecil Shorts is Active

Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts (sprained shoulder) will play Sunday against San Diego.Fantasy Spin:Shorts went from having trouble sleeping earlier in the week due to pain from his shoulder sprain to being active Sunday. There's some risk that Shorts won't be able to get through a full game but he can be started as a WR3 as he'll likely see 10 targets if he stays on the field.

Justin Blackmon Expected To Play vs. San Diego

Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon (groin, hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.Fantasy Spin:Blackmon missed some practice time this week but was never expected to miss Sunday's game. MJD Bottled Up By Chargers

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew had nine carries for 37 yards and two catches for 19 yards Sunday against San Diego.Fantasy Spin:The Jags have fallen behind big in most of their games this season and aren't suddenly going to become competitive. MJD also isn't making many big plays, so his fantasy value is entirely tied to whether or not he scores a short touchdown.

getty images Justin Blackmon caught a ball out of bounds in Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. He then laid out a security guard. All in a day’s work for Blackmon who caught six passes for 58 yards. (This not being one of them) It was not enough though as the Jaguars lost 24-6 to the Chargers. Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Keys to a Win over San Deigo

With a possibility of the return of Marcedes Lewis in the near future and a defense that looks like it may have turned a very small corner last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars go into Sunday’s game with a touch of confidence - more so than it has had at anyone one time this season. There are no “moral wins” in football and reaching double digits in points and tightening up on...

Jaguars drop to 0-7 after double-digit loss to Chargers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Philip Rivers threw for 285 yards and a touchdown, Ryan Mathews ran for 110 yards and a score, and the surging San Diego Chargers beat the winless Jacksonville Jaguars 24-6 Sunday. The Chargers (4-3) showed little, if any, issues with a short week, a cross-country flight and an early start time. And they played nothing like a team looking ahead to its...

Chargers Run Through Jacksonville: Five Things We Learned

When one of my oldest and dearest friends (who happens to be a pastor) asks a hypothetical question like, “At what point does a true Jags fan hope the losing streak continues so the team will have first draft pick and possibly get a real quarterback?,” all I can do is shake my head and ask the same question.Or, I could reply and ask him for some divine intervention. Something...
