Three Key Things To Watch For Tonight, as the Saints determine which 22 Players To Cut: 1. Red hot receiver battle: Draft pick Kenny Stills likely has the 3 receiver spot locked up, but Nick Toon, Preston Parker and Andy Tanner are making strong pitches to be in the Saints receiving corps number. Toon is a draft pick from last year, so this decision might come down to Tanner and Parker. The kicking game could be a key. Perhaps Parker can return his way into a roster spot. Andy Tanner has been cut 16 times by the Saints over the past several years, but sparkled last week by hauling in his first two professional touchdowns versus the Texans. Tonight, he's focusing on his special teams blocking to prove he's an all-around asset. Depending on what these young hopefuls show, special teams captain Courtney Roby could be in trouble. 2. Cornerback Patrick Robinson: Most of the starters wont see much playing time, if any, tonight, but Robinson is the exception. He hasn't gotten...

Sean Payton, Drew Brees endorse new LB Parys Haralson: ‘He is a big physical guy’

The New Orleans Saints were desperate when linebacker Will Smith went down with a season ending injury, but got lucky picking up an experienced LB that they know very well. Parys Haralson, the former 49er turned Saint, brings size to a smaller defense, he also brings a wealth of experience as a former starter for the vaunted 49ers defense.

The question Drew Brees is sick of answering

Saints quarterback Drew Brees has fielded hundreds of questions this preseason, but one in particular is getting asked again and again - and getting under his skin. "What's it like to have Sean Payton back?" "He has been asked that question so many times, and I have been asked that question so many times," Brees said wearily in the team's final media...

Saints Aquire LB Parys Haralson

The New Orleans Saints acquired Veteran Linebacker Parys Haralson from the San Francisco 49ers. New Orleans gave up a conditional 7th round draft pick for Haralson hinging on the fact he makes the team. I know I know why is this even a story? For no other reason than Haralson can flat out play. In six seasons Haralson amassed 145 tackles 21.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Frank...

New Orleans Saints Preseason Recap: 5 Biggest Disappointments

The have nots pray...

Roster spots on the line in Saints' final preseason game

The Saints are headed to Miami for a fourth preseason game versus the Dolphins Thursday night that will serve as the final job interview for many talented players embroiled in a heated battle to survive Saturday's upcoming roster pruning. Many of the Black and Gold's starters won't see much action, if any at all - including Drew Brees. Back up Luke McCown is slated...

Saints Nation: 5 Things To Look For in Saints @ Dolphins

Thankfully the preseason is about to come to a close, and considering the number of players the Saints have already lost for the entire season I wish they could just forfeit this game. There will be very little to no starters playing in this game, so while no injury is welcome, ever, at least we know something serious probably won't happen to a starter. Yeah, I probably just...

Saints Wide Receiver Marques Colston Return's for Preseason Game

New Orleans Saints starting wide receiver Marques Colston returns for his first game action of the preseason. The saints have been slowly progressing Colston who has been dealing with a foot injury all training camp. Colston played with the second string offense and had one catch for 18 yards in two series. Sean Payton had this to say on why he played Colston in the fourth preseason...

Saints shift focus to Falcons

The New Orleans Saints are now focusing their attention on their archival and Week 1 opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, after Thursdays 24-21 preseason finale loss to the Miami Dolphins. Punter Thomas Morstead's outfit for the plane ride home to New Orleans from Miami said it all. He tweeted out this picture of himself, sporting a t-shirt of a Saints fist choking a falcon: ...

Saints Recap: Who Makes the Cut?

If you managed to sit through that 3-hour blooper reel referred to as preseason game 4 between the Saints and Dolphins, congratulations! You’re not only a true fan but a total masochist. The game, in which starters for both teams spent most, if not all, of their time on the sidelines, ended as sloppy as it began. The Dolphins came away with the victory, not that it matters...

Rob Ryan, New Orleans Saints Patch Up Porous Run Defense

The Preseason Finale And What It Meant

Before the Dolphins set out to face the New Orleans Saints in the preseason finale, we broke down the roster battles and pointed out which players needed to have big performances Thursday night. The day after the 24-21 victory at Sun Life Stadium, it's time to revisit the roster and see how things might have changed after Thursday night.

Big Night for Bubble Boys

The Dolphins are set for their last preseason game of the summer, and the biggest priority Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints will be escaping any injuries of consequence. In that vein, it's difficult to envision the starters playing very much, if at all, Thursday night.
