Waiting For Next Year:
To say the Browns are going slowly in their search for an offensive coordinator is an understatement. Really, compared to what I hoped for when Shurmur was hired, the Browns are a about a year late already. I digress.
Even if the Browns didn’t get it right the first time around, I don’t mind this process taking a long time now because it means the Browns are searching for a strong candidate of the level that is considered for head coaching gigs in the NFL. That was my dream when the Browns hired Shurmur. I wanted him to have extremely experienced coordinators on both sides of the ball to support him on his maiden voyage into the head coaches headset. Maybe the Browns offense would have struggled just the same with an offensive equivalent of Dick Jauron running the offense. We’ll never know for sure, but the hope is that some of the gameday gaffes might have been avoided without an overwhelmed first-time head coach.
The delay in hiring hopefully means good things for the Brown...
BEST OF MAXIM
We all know that the Cleveland Browns need to figure out the right side of the offensive line as betting on Tony Pashos only paid off when compared to John St. Clair if at all. Apparently the Browns could be placing a high priority on it as well in the draft according to WalterFootball.
Word is that the Cleveland Browns have serious interest in Ohio State offensive tackle Mike...

"Sherman can develop the WC Offense here and bring along a young QB. If Shurmur doesn't grow into the head coaching job in the next year or two, Sherman can be elevated to head coach and Cromwell can take over as OC." - jdunne
Scene Magazine’s Vince Grzegorek has reported that The Plain Dealer has removed Tony Grossi from the Cleveland Browns beat. Grossi “accidentally tweeted” last week calling Browns owner Randy Lerner “a pathetic figure, the most irrelevant billionaire in the world”.
“He was in hot water with his editors and bosses at the PD over the inadvertent tweet, which...

"Did Atlanta make the Superbowl this year? I must have missed Oakland making the Superbowl, oh wait, they didn't even make the playoffs. You can't sell all your draft picks and magically make it to the Superbowl. The Steelers, Ravens, and Patriots are always picking at the bottom of the 1st round and they seem to be pretty good. Phil Taylor had an excellent season for...
Every week of the Browns season we do the (sometimes comical) “Browns will win if…” articles here on WFNY. Usually it was something about Peyton Hillis being healthy, Colt McCoy finding some rhythm with his receivers, Phil Taylor and Ahtyba Rubin stopping the run, or Phil Dawson hitting eleventeen field goals as the keys to victory. It was always interesting to see how...
For waking up a comatose organization Mike Holmgren's place in team history is now secured. On July 21, the former coach will be inducted to the Packers Hall of Fame.
