If one of the Patriots’ Swiss Army Knives Julian Edelman gets cut this week, its pretty much safe to say it’s because he took out one of the team’s superstars.

Edelman rolled up underneath tight end Aaron Hernandez’s ankle during Sunday’s loss against the Arizona Cardinals as he made his way downfield after catching a screen pass from Tom Brady.

Report: Hernandez has ankle sprain

Aaron Hernandez reportedly suffered a high ankle sprain, which could force him to miss a significant amount of time and present a huge obstacle for the Patriots offense.

Tom Brady Remains Biggest Key to Making Sure Patriots Offense Remains Well-Oiled Machine

Tom Brady threw for over 300 yards on Sunday, and he also threw a touchdown pass. Those numbers aren't especially horrible, but given the lofty expectations for Brady and the rest of the Patriots offense, it certainly wasn't a great day. More importantly, the offense as a whole struggled, scoring only one touchdown in a 20-18 upset loss at the hands of the Cardinals. It&...

Wes Welker's New Place as Patriots All-Time Leading Receiver Underscored by Loss of Starting Job and Game

Wes Welker started Sunday's game standing on the sidelines, but by the end of the afternoon he was running into the history books. Welker, who was replaced in the starting lineup by Julian Edelman on Sunday, stood by and watched as the Patriots offense struggled to combat a stringy Arizona defense for much of the first half. Just when it seemed that Tom Brady and the passing...

Wes Welker: No longer part of Patriots plans?

Wes Welker has been a key contributor to the New England Patriots for six years now. During this time, Welker has broken franchise records, tied Super Bowl records, and has the most receiving yards than anyone in the league. These are impressive numbers, but apparently not to the Patriots. According to Jamal Collier, (Bleacher Report), Wes Welker maybe on his way out of New England...

If Bill Belichick is vindictively punishing the great Wes Welker, the fraud should again be ashamed of his behavior

Despite putting up solid numbers and breaking Troy Brown’s record to become the all-time receptions leader in Patriots history with his 558th catch in New England’s embarrassing 20-18 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, speculation is mounting that receiver Wes Welker … Continue reading →

LaRon Landry rips Bill Belichick, Mike Shanahan and the Redskins organization

LaRon Landry is playing for the guy he wants to play for. To hell with the rest of them. Rex Ryan loves Landry’s work ethic and Landry loves Ryan’s unique and aggressive defense, which LaRon says is ultimately why he ended up in New York. However, the safety said the absence of Bill Belichick during his visit with the Patriots made his decision to not sign with New England easy...

Aaron Hernandez Could be Sidelined Six Weeks

New England tight end Aaron Hernandez's injured ankle could sideline him for the next six weeks according to ProFootballTalk.Fantasy Spin:The Patriots have a wealth of options at receiver and tight end and are one of the few teams in the league that can survive an injury like this. Don't expect Tom Brady's stats to drop off in Hernandez's absence.

New England Patriots: Aaron Hernandez Out at Least 6 Weeks

Not only did the New England Patriots lose a shoe-in of a game to the Arizona Cardinals, but they lost TE Aaron Hernandez to a possible high ankle sprain.  It appears Hernandez will miss at least the next 6 week.  Being owned in 99% of Yahoo leagues, there is going to be a ton of TE waiver wire action going on this week.  Normally I would start by telling you who to go pick up...

Quick Out: Wes Welker

Welker owns 4 of the top 25 single season reception totals in NFL history, no one else has more than 2 in the top 25 (2 each for C.Carter, J.Rice, J.Smith and M.Harrison). He is coming off a tie for the 4th highest reception total ever when he had 122 receptions in 2011, and you do not go from that point to being behind Julian Edelman on the depth chart. The issue here is a...

Bill O'Brien Wins First Game at Penn State as Nittany Lions Sink Navy

Bill Belichick surely had an eye on at least one college football score today. It was Belichick's former assistant against the school where the Patriots' head coach first learned to coach under his father as Penn State faced off against Navy. Bill O'Brien got the first win of his head coaching career as the Nittany Lions clobbered the Midshipmen 34-7 at Beaver Stadium...

NFL Week 2 Injury Report

The Sunday games from Week Two of the NFL regular season are in the books and as usual, several teams came away from their games with key injuries. The most costly injury being that to New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez. The Washington Redskins defense suffered two very key injuries as well. Let’s take a quyick look at some of the bigger name players which suffered injuries...

Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots: Hero and Zero of Game

Where do I even begin? There was not a whole lot that went as expected in this contest between the Patriots and the Cardinals in Foxborough Mass.I wanted to come out of this with a clear-cut hero on one side (the Patriots) and an equally clear-cut zero on the other side (the Cardinals). The spread on the game was almost two full touchdowns for the Brady-led Pats and the prevailing...

New England Patriots: Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#3)

Last week: 3 (+0) Record: 1-1 In 2010, the Patriots lost to the Browns. In 2011, the Patriots lost to the Bills. They won 14 games in 2010 and 13 games in 2011. It wasn’t the end of the world then and it’s not the end of the world now. It’s football. Sometimes **** just happens for no reason. If the Patriots lost to the Ravens this week, then they’ve got an issue, but given...
