Stars of Big D:
Dallas Stars 3 - Anaheim Ducks 1
Jamie Benn is on a roll right now. His goal last night gives him six points in the last three games and he's been carrying this offense for the past week. He looked slightly rusty during his first few games, but he's definitely worked that rust off now. He's found great chemistry with Jagr and Morrow and those guys need to stick together until that magic disappears.
The Stars actually outshot an opponent! Dallas controlled the game in the first and third periods and outshot Anaheim 23-8 in those two frames. It's the first time the entire year that the Stars outshot the other team and that puck possession was critical last night.
Trevor Daley and Alex Goligoski were both excellent last night. Daley was the last man back on three different breakaways and made great defensive plays on two seperate one-on-one chances. He also scored his first goal of the year and was solid all-around.

DALLAS (AP) -- Trevor Daley and Jamie Benn scored power-play goals, Loui Eriksson added a third-period score and the Dallas Stars beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 on Friday night.
Eriksson gave the Stars some breathing room when he corralled Alex Goligoski's cross-ice pass and fired a wrist shot past Anaheim goaltender Viktor Fasth with 7:14 remaining.
Goligoski, who was a healthy...

Anaheim was expected to enter this season on a downturn. They finished 13th in the West last season and had pretty much the exact same roster this...
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Viktor Fasth stopped three of six shootout attempts to become the first NHL goalie in eight years to win his first five starts, and Bobby Ryan had two goals and two assists as the Anaheim Ducks beat the struggling St. Louis Blues 6-5 on Saturday night.
Fasth, who began the game first in the NHL with a 1.06 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage, allowed...
You cannot win them all. But you should at least give every game your best effort. The Ducks failed to give their best effort against the Dallas Stars and it cost them in the 3-1 defeat.
They did not play their best in Colorado, either, but Viktor Fasth was able to shut out the Avalanche and Anaheim was still able to pull off a win. Against Dallas, the second game of...
You could describe the game between the St. Louis Blues and the Anaheim Ducks with a lot of phrases and words. Wild. Unpredictable. Back and forth. High scoring. Error filled. Wacky. The ones the coaches would use would be more colorful.
The most important description? Ducks win 6-5 in a shootout.
From the way it began, you would not have guessed...
