PLAYERS: Jonas Hiller
TEAMS: Anaheim Ducks
Game 5 of the “circus trip” was against the Ducks. The Hawks who had lost their previous 3 games, being out scored 15-4, were not looking good, to say the least. Corey Crawford started in net against Jonas Hiller. The Hawks, as you would expect, had their lines shaken up by Coach Q. The 3 B’s skated together, Bickell-Bolland-Brunette, and Sharp, Kane & Frolik formed another line. Seabrook was back in action for the Hawks “D” after his lower body inury. The 1st period started HORRIBLE with the Ducks scoring twice in the first 3 minutes, All I could think was, “here we go again!”  Then, a Hawks Penalty Kill (Last in the league @73.5%) was successful. Seconds later, Sharp scored on a rebound, 2-1. Things were looking a little better. The Hawks squandered 2 straight Power Plays, and you had the feeling that “missed opportunities” would be the key once again. Selanne made it 3-1, and Bolland answered, 3-2. You felt fortunate to be going into the locker room being down only one goal...

Ducks Continue To Lose

from Jeff Miller of the Ducks Blog at the OC Register, At the end of the loss in Phoenix, both Ryan Getzlaf and Teemu Selanne receiving unsportsman-like-conduct penalties. Selanne, though, attempted to bring some perspective to things about 15 hours later. “You know, nobody died,” he said. “We still have to realize how lucky we are. We have to use the passion and fun to (fix...

Ducks beaten by Chicago's four-goal flurry

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Patrick Sharp scored the tying and go-ahead goals in a 2:01 span early in the third period to complete his second career hat trick, and the Chicago Blackhawks rallied for a 6-5 victory over the floundering Anaheim Ducks on Friday. Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews had two goals and three assists, helping Chicago end a three-game skid and send the demoralized...

Blackhawks Get Black Friday Victory Over Ducks

Just when you think the Ducks are taking baby steps forward, they can't quite move far enough ahead to win a game.  Instead, the inability to recover when the slightest adversity hits continues to plague Anaheim.  The latest loss, 6-5 to the Chicago Blackhawks, proves that point. The Ducks, who have been slow to get going, have managed to score first for the past two games...

Ducks Hunted | Blackhawks 6 - Ducks 5

"Anyone else have anything to say? No? Yeah, that's what I thought."Remember when the Ducks scored two goals within the first three minutes of the game, the Blackhawks didn’t even get a shot on net until six minutes in, and the first two periods were absolutely abysmal? Then between the second and third period I went to check my mail and a package from the Blackhawks...

Coyotes Easily Take Ducks, 4-2

If a team wins in Phoenix, does anyone know?  The announced attendance was just over 9,000, and you know they don't all show up.  Then again, even if it weren't Phoenix, there would not be much reason to show up to watch the Anaheim Ducks play hockey.   Unless you are the opposing team. With a 4-2 defeat to add to the growing list of losses, you can bet that every single...

Blackhawks Head to Anaheim Friday

Whenever you begin a long road trip, the idea is to be .500 or better. Hawks fans have been spoiled as the past three seasons the Hawks have come back from the Circus Trip with a 4-2 record or better in the carry-on bag. Unfortunately, that's not in the cards this year, thanks to that cubist form of anarchy the Hawks put on display in Calgary and Edmonton. But .500 is still...

Take-Aways from Friday's Blackhawks Game

Not one for those with the high blood pressure, was it? There shouldn't be marker games in November against a team that is plummeting toward Earth like a tank dropped out of a plane with no parachute (just watched A-Team, sorry). That would be a game you look back at the end of the season and say, "That was when it came together" or "That was a springboard."...
