Roberto Luongo had a bad night is an understatement. Like saying sumo wrestlers are a little overweight, understatement. Luongo gave up eight goals against Detroit and the Canucks got hammered 8-3 by the Red Wings. Damien Brunner led the way for the Red Wings with two goals and two assists. Joakim Andersson scored twice for the Red Wings while Niklas Kronwall and Henrik Zetterberg each had a goal and two assists. Lost in all of the Detroit offense was a two-goal night for Daniel Sedin. SPIN: The real interesting thing about this game was that Detroit actually trailed 3-2 after one period. This game was an all-around flop for Vancouver and things like this are going to happen. I’m not soured on Luongo because of one night. Detroit also went 3-of-5 on the power play in this one and those were all second-period goals. This was one of those nights when seemingly everything went right for Detroit and should be looked on as an aberration. This is just the second time this season someone h...

Phoenix Coyotes vs. Canucks: El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Luongo

Yotes vs. Nucks G18 notes, prediction & tweets! (Translation: The Mysterious Voyage of Lu) Safe to say every Canucks player took a long cold shower Sunday night after being shellacked 8-3 by the Detroit Red Wings. Ugliest game of the year hands down and perhaps the most shocking. The wheels usually come off on the last game of a road trip but not like that. Roberto Luongo gave...

Canucks vs Detroit Red Wings…yeesh that was ugly

Love ‘Em & Hate ‘Em Well that was ugly wasn’t it Canucks fans? The reality of the NHL schedule, even at 48 games, is that there are times when the wheels will fall completely off. You’re never as good as your best game quite like you’re never as bad as your worst. So the Canucks, and their fans, would be well served to throw this game away completely and forget about...

Game 18: Nashville at Detroit – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Nashville made their way late last night to the snowy lands of lower Michigan for a date this evening with the Detroit Red Wings. Last night, the Predators put everything they could towards Roberto Luongo and the Vancouver Canucks, but it wasn’t to be as they would be shutout for the 4th time this season losing 1-0. Detroit, themselves, are having a bit of a problem as well. The...

Vancouver Canucks vs. Detroit Red Wings Game 17 notes, prediction & tweets!

Motown The Vancouver Canucks wrap up their four game road trip with an afternoon game with Detroit, who’s still struggling to adjust to hockey in the post-Lidstrom era. You can’t just replace one of the greatest defencemen of all time, and the Wings are middling around .500 this year instead of keeping pace with Chicago for the central division lead. Matchup: Vancouver Canucks...
