Found January 23, 2013 on Goon's World:
Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid and New York Rangers forward Brian Boyle are two big boys and this was a pretty good fight in my opinion. This is one thing that I like about the NHL, something happens on the ice and it's settled the players on the ice and not the officials. I score the fight a win by McQuaid. Unfortunately, the Boston Bruins are losing 2-0 after one period of hockey.

Could the Rangers’ start prompt a search for blueline help?

(AP Photo/Frank Franklin II) The irony of the Rangers unimpressive start is that this team could really benefit from Wade Redden on the bottom pair. His passing ability and experience would have been a boost to the bottom pair. Clearly though, that was never going to happen, and all jokes aside two bad losses doesn’t mean a general manager should blow up his roster and beg for...

Around The Farm: Whale blow lead, win in OT

After blowing a four goal lead in the third period, Brandon Segal netted his second goal of the game and the OT winner for the Whale in their 6-5 victory over Adirondack. The Whale jumped out to a 5-1 lead midway through the second period, but surrendered four straight goals, including two goals in the final two minutes. Newly acquired Brandon Mashinter made his presence known...

Bruins fan has puck land in his beer

What are the chances of a hockey puck flying into your beer at a Boston Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets game? I guess they’re pretty high since that’s exactly what happened to a Bruins fan Monday night at the TD Garden. Three things about this incident: • Is getting a game puck worth losing a $9 beer? • Why is he giving money to dad to get him another beer? • How did the puck...

Bruins’ Put Selves in Early Hole, Bounce Back Well in Loss to Rangers (Video)

Going down early to the Rangers 2-0, the Bruins looked flat coming out of the gate at Madison Square Garden. Marian Gaborik made them pay for their slothfulness, slotting in a pair of first-period goals which prompted a Bruins timeout. However, as poor as the B’s looked in the early going, eventually they got their legs under them and made a game of it, losing in overtime 4-3....

Boston Bruins Fan Has Puck Land In His Beer (Video)

Check out this Boston Bruins fan who had a hockey puck land in his beer during Monday nights win against the Winnipeg Jets. Still haven't decided if I would be pissed or not.  What are beers there like 8 to 10 bucks?  Personally a hockey puck doesn't do much for me.  A 24oz beer can work up a pretty solid buzz though.  I'm going with the beer every time.  Check out...

New York Rangers Reinventing Themselves?

Rick Carpinello of Rangers Report (@rangersreport) brings up a fascinating point in his latest article reviewing the 0-2 start for the Blueshirts. Carp believes the team, now complete with Rick Nash but sans players like Brandon Prust, Brandon Dubinsky and Ruslan Fedotenko, will play a game with more speed and high-end skill, and less of the grind-it-out style the fans have come...

NY Rangers Marian Gaborik scores goal after nice passing from teammates (Video)

With the NHL back in full force, the New York Rangers faced off tonight against the Boston Bruins to renew an age-old rivalry. The Rangers scored the first goal of the game after some nice passing found New York forward Marian Gaborik who deked Tuukka Rask for the score:

Rangers 4, Bruins 3 (OT)

NEW YORK -- Marian Gaborik's third goal of the game, 27 seconds into overtime, sent hats flying onto the rink while giving the New York Rangers their first win of the season and the Boston Bruins their first defeat. Gaborik completed his hat trick and the Rangers' 4-3 win at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night by tapping in a deflection of his own miss on a breakaway...

Tuukka Rask Robs Rick Nash & Marian Gaborik With Sprawling Save

With just under a minute left in regulation in a 3-3 game between the Bruins and Rangers on Wednesday night, Tuukka Rask likely single-handedly earned the B’s a point when he was able to surpress a Rick Nash & Marian Gaborik scoring push with an unbelievable sprawling save. Nash pulled off a nifty move to get around Milan Lucic and fire a shot on net, one which Rask turned...

Second Look: Tuukka Rask making snow angels all night long

Tuukka Rask can put up fantastic numbers. He's proven that over the years while being Tim Thomas' backup/1B (or was he 1A?) goaltender. 2013 - 1.95 GAA, .926 SV% 2012-2011 - 2.05 GAA, .929 SV% 2011-2010 - 2.67 GAA, .918 SV% 2010-2009 - 1.97 GAA, .931 SV% The two big questions coming into this season was how his groin would hold up and could he perform...

Time To Turn Things Around

After an 0-2 start to the 48-game season, this is something that the New York Rangers need to do beginning tonight with their tilt against the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden. The Blueshirts are coming off two games in which they did not play well defensively, took some bad penalties and did not get the offense they need from guys other than Brad Richards and Rick Nash....

Bruins Get Early Opportunity to Test Mettle, Build up Bad Blood With Rematch Against Rangers (Video)

The NHL schedule is a little screwy this season. With the 48-game slate tilted heavily toward intradivisional play (and only consisting of intraconference games), plenty of teams will be seeing much more of each other than they normally would. NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is expecting that to translate into some extra emotions on the ice, with points at a premium and familiarity...

Islanders-Bruins Preview

The Boston Bruins are off to a strong start even with their offense not fully in gear yet. Matchups with the New York Islanders usually provide a big boost to their production. Boston looks to rebound from its first loss and continue its success against the Islanders when the teams meet Friday night at TD Garden. Expected to be among the best teams in the Eastern Conference, the...
