Abbotsford, BC - Ben Walter and Greg Nemisz scored in a shootout to lead the Abbotsford Heat past the Milwaukee Admirals Friday in Abbotsford, B.C., 2-1.
The shootout loss was the first blemish on the 2011-2012 Admirals record, but the point moves them into sole possession of first place in the Midwest Division (3-0-0-1, 7 points). The Admirals also extended its streak of road games without a regulation loss to 19.
Milwaukee’s lone scorer in the shootout was Juuso Puustinen.
Abbotsford’s offensive pressure had the Admirals chasing the puck early in the game. The Heat struck first when defenseman T.J. Brodie’s shot from the point found its way through traffic and over the right shoulder of Milwaukee netminder Jeremy Smith at 6:21 of the first period.
Admirals forward Ryan Thang tied the game at 6:34 of the second period with a wrist shot from the ri...

No Western Conference team has given the Nashville Predators more problems over the last few seasons than the Calgary Flames.
Miikka Kiprusoff and Jarome Iginla have been big reasons why.
Kiprusoff, who is likely to be in goal, and Iginla look to help the Flames to a fifth straight win over a Predators team trying to avoid losing its fifth in a row Saturday at the Saddledome.
The Predators saw all the bounces go the opposition's way in losing their fourth straight game on Thursday. Luck certainly hasn't been on their side lately against the Flames either.
