via YouTube The Chicago Wolves and Rockford IceHogs spent their St. Patricks Day combined for 174 penalty minutes in a massive brawl that made its way onto the Rockford bench. The incident took place at the end of the Rockford’s 2-1 win when Chicago forward Guillaume Desbiens ended up on the Rockford bench after completing his check. IceHogs forward Jeremy Morin began throwing punches at Desbiens and a massive pile-up of players ensued. It had the elements of a true bench-clearing brawl, except that the players didn’t actually have to clear the bench to fight.

The Rockford Ice Hogs and the Chicago Wolves got into it pretty intensely on Sunday night very late in the third period. The Ice Hogs had a powerplay with 12.9 seconds left and with a 2-1 lead they were intent on letting the clock run out.
