I am a huge fan of the NHL Network. I love the channel’s content, coverage of the game, coverage of special events and its hosts. With that in mind, I reached out to one of the Network’s best hosts and asked for an e-mail interview. As it turned out, the great Kathryn Tappen agreed to do so with me. Tappen took time out of her very, very busy schedule to tell us about how she got into hockey, how she got the gig at NHL Network, how she likes working at the Network and much, much, more. PH: How did you get into hockey? KT: I grew up going to NJ Devils games as a kid, but I didn’t start following hockey on a consistent basis until 2005 with my first full-time TV job at WJAR-NBC in Providence, RI. My very first live shot on TV that I did for local news at WJAR was in Boston and I was reporting on the NHL Lockout announcement. From there, I covered the Providence Bruins, who at the time had many NHL players on the roster due to the lockout. I then began to develop a passion for co...

Tim Thomas, Benoit Pouliot Lead Bruins in 'Road Trip Rally' Win Over Canadiens

Maybe a road trip is just what the Bruins need to right themselves. The B's pulled out a much-needed win in Montreal after coughing up a 3-1 lead in the third period, but the Black and Gold prevailed in a shootout thanks to Tim Thomas' stellar goaltending. Benoit Pouliot's highlight-reel goal against his former team helped too, and the Bruins began their six-game road...

The Bruins have gotten the news on forward Rich Peverley, and while his season isn't over, the B's will be without the forward for at least a month. Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced that Peverley has a third degree sprained MCL in his right knee and will be out for 4-6 weeks. Benoit Pouliot Only Scores Highlight Reel Goals

En route to an eventual shootout win, the Boston Bruins took on the Montreal Canadiens in a battle of Original Six franchises that featured some great fighting, some great goaltending and this incredibly pretty goal from Bruins forward Benoit Pouliot. Pouliot only has 9 goals on the season but when he scores, he does so very prettily. You might remember this insanely beautiful goal...

Video: Habs fans cheer after Chara is hit by puck

How far is too far? Hockey fans cheer for big hits and fights. When two guys drop the gloves, they want the guy on their team to rearrange the other guy’s face. It’s worse with rivals. Fan bases can develop an unbelievable hatred for one another, and no two groups of fans are a better example of that than the Bruins and Canadiens. That being said, is cheering when a rival...

Daniel Paille's Backhand Goal Wins Amica Coverage Play of the Week

The Bruins' fourth line has turned in some invaluable performances this year, and Saturday's game against the Nashvillle Predators saw another excellent effort from Gregory Campell's unit. While being heavily defended in the corner of the Nashville zone, Daniel Paille was able to gain separation from the Predators' Kevin Klein and pass the puck to fellow winger Shawn...

The NHL trade deadline is approaching and more and more, it looks like the Bruins may have to seriously pursue some help up front. Claude Julien told reporters on Thursday in Montreal that the forward is being sent back to Boston to be evaluated after...
