MADISON -- The 17th-ranked Wisconsin hockey squad avenged an opening-night loss Saturday, as it held off Northern Michigan, 3-2.Wisconsin tallied a pair of second-period goals to wrestle away momentum in the contest, in front of 11,158 fans at the Kohl Center. Tyler Barnes, Derek Lee and Michael Mersch all notched goals for the Badgers (1-1-0). Justin Schultz also greatly aided the Wisconsin effort, distributing three assists. Between the pipes, Badgers net-minder Joel Rumpel had a solid showing, producing 31 saves. Northern Michigan (1-1-0) was paced by Justin Florek's two goals.
