PLAYERS: Gary Bettman
from Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, Whenever this lockout does finally end – and it will someday – perhaps it would be wise for all of us to refrain from succumbing to the temptation to declare winners and losers. Because I truly believe that one of the major reasons why the league has taken such a hard line this time around is it was portrayed as the big winner and it managed to fritter away its advantages in record time. Botta adds that in order to play a 48-game regular season (the fewest games Bettman is likely to accept for a regular-season schedule) and not have the playoffs extended deep into July, a deal would have to be done...

Bettman was asked about the possibility the NHLPA might...

Record ‘Breaker’

from Ian MacIntyre of the Vancouver Sun, At the end of the last lockout, the National Hockey League marked the start of its bold new era with a redesigned logo. The league’s acronym reversed direction, tilting upwards across a shield trimmed in silver to reflect a more positive energy and trajectory. Who knew Gary Bettman believed in feng shui? Whenever this lockout...
