Found October 23, 2013 on HockeyBuzz:
After the Dallas Stars suffered their fourth loss in five games, head coach Lindy Ruff suggested to the media that there could be some lineup changes coming. He was particularly unhappy with some of what he's seen on the blueline. Today at practice, per Stars beat writer Mike Heika and official website writer Andrew Stepneski, Ruff did indeed shake up his defensive pairings. Most notably, Alex...

Connauton to make NHL debut for Stars; Goligoski a healthy scratch

DALLAS -- When the Dallas Stars hit the ice at American Airlines Center on Thursday night to face the Calgary Flames, they will look a little bit different in the back. Ruff juggles D-pairs, puts Nichushkin on top line for the day

Lots to read into practice today so a fun day for speculation. First the news. Ryan Garbutt will travel to New York for a 10 a.m. CDT meeting Wednesday with the Department of Player Safety to discuss his hit on Dustin Penner in Sunday’s 6-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. The fact Garbutt is being called in person almost guarantees a suspension. Garbutt will travel with Stars GM...

Mike Milbury thinks the Sabres should fire Ron Rolston

Mike Milbury was not happy about John Scott's dirty hit on Loui Eriksson. This anger boiled over and led to some critical remarks about Scott and Buffalo's coaching staff, including his belief that Ron Rolston should be fired by the Sabres.  Courtesy of SB Nation, here's video of Milbury's statements: Rolston has already been fined by the league this...

Connauton to Make NHL Debut, Goligoski a Scratch as Stars Take on Flames

Stars defenseman Kevin Connauton sat in the locker room after Wednesday’s practice and talked about the couple times he almost got into games this season. “Last game we all dressed for warm-ups and I really wasn’t sure. I was texting my family and friends saying ‘Hey it might be tonight. Keep an eye on the game’” he said. “Then in Colorado (Trevor) Daley had kind of...

NEW YORK (AP) -- Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt was suspended for five games without pay by the NHL on Wednesday for charging Anaheim Ducks forward Dustin Penner. Sabres’ blue-liners resisting the urge to go it alone on the rush

The temptation is there but Christian Ehrhoff does his best to resist it while Tyler Myers isn’t even considering leading the breakout if there’s a more effective way to move the puck. When a team is struggling to score and it has blue-liners with some offensive ability the urge might be there for at least one of them to make like Bobby Orr or Phil Housley and lead a rush that...

Sabres Hack John Scott Pounds Bruins Forward Loui Eriksson in the Head

Last night, Buffalo Sabres pylon, hack, one-dimensional forward, John Scott hit Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson in the head with one of the dirtiest hits I have seen this season. It doesn't appear that the players are learning anything. Scott's teammate Patrick Kaleta is already serving a 10-game suspension for his dirty hit on Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson...
