Last season, the Detroit Red Wings nearly dashed the Chicago Blackhawks' playoff hopes in the final game of the regular season. Chicago, though, won't begin its fourth consecutive playoff appearance at home because it can finish no better than fifth in the Western Conference. Why I’m not worried about the Detroit Red Wings

It wasn’t long ago that the Detroit Red Wings had lost six straight games and looked like a confused, beaten team.  The Wings have looked better since then, but have still showed signs of shakiness that was not present during the team’s 23-game home winning streak. I’m here to tell you to throw all that out the window. Now, it’s playoff time, a time where the Detroit Red...

Bryan Bickell’s Second Half Surge Helping Hawks

Red Wings-Devils game-day updates: Wings sign Sheahan, will start Howard, and Helm skated today

According to MLive’s Ansar Khan, the Red Wings have officially signed Riley Sheahan to a 3-year, entry-level contract, and they summoned the power forward to Detroit for the move, but that doesn’t mean he’ll play against the New Jersey Devils tonight (7:30 PM EDT, FSD/MSG/97.1 FM)... “I’m not going to take a look at him,’’ [Wings coach Mike] Babcock said. “ I’d...

Blackhawks sign Ray Emery to a one-year extension

The Chicago Blackhawks spent the 2011-12 season deploying Corey Crawford and Ray Emery in net. The goaltender that was the "number one" starter by definition was simply whichever netminder had the hot hand at the time. It has been a shaky system at times but ultimately it has been one that has worked, carrying Chicago to yet another playoff berth.  As a result, the Blackhawks...

Blackhawks Blow Late Lead, Lose To Wild In Shootout
