Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand threw a water bottle on the ice before the overtime faceoff during Monday night's Game 7 at the TD Garden against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bruins coach Claude Julien didn't like the way his players were lined up for the faceoff, but couldn't get the attention of his players, so Marchand tossed the water bottle onto the ice to force the officials to blow the whistle and have his teammates reset. Marchand was not assessed with a delay of game penalty. Video via HockeyVideoHD. Visit us at holdoutsports.com and follow us on Twitter @HoldoutSports.

  • He threw the bottle to get the ref's attention because a fan had thrown a rally towel on the ice and the ref didn't see it. Leave it to the media to make something out of nothing! Had nothing to do with the formation on the ice. Why would you make that up?
  • Ok good for Marchand . i think he not 100% and doing what he can. Hes got at least a broken nose from mid season . He took a beating this season .

Brad Marchand Ends Interesting Day With Overtime Game-Winner Against Rangers in Game 1

BOSTON — Brad Marchand left the TD Garden ice before expected on Thursday morning after suffering an apparent injury at Bruins’ morning skate. It was cause for concern for Bruins fans to say the least. It was nothing, assured Bruins coach Claude Julien, and sure enough Marchand was out there for Game 1 against the New York Rangers just a few hours later. The next time Marchand...

Marchand delivers to lift Bruins over Rangers 3-2

Brad Marchand left the morning skate early. The Bruins were thrilled he was on the ice at the end of the game Thursday night. More precisely, just a few feet from the empty side of the net. Patrice Bergeron made a perfect pass across the slot and Marchand tipped the puck in with 4:20 left in the first overtime. That gave Boston a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers in the opener...

Brad Marchand’s Game-Winning Goal Stands Out in Best Images From Bruins’ Game 1 Win Over Rangers (Photos)

Somebody should probably tell the Bruins that they’re allowed to win games in regulation time. As long as they are winning those games, though, nobody is going to argue. The Bruins came through with another white-knuckle victory on Thursday, getting an overtime goal by Brad Marchand to propel them to a 3-2 win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Marchand’s tip-in...

Marchand had carried the puck up the right side, passed it to Bergeron and...

Brad Marchand throws water bottle on ice before overtime

Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien was trying to get Nathan Horton’s attention prior to the overtime, presumably to tell him something about the Toronto Maple Leafs forward line they sent out.  It was rocking in the TD Garden and Horton couldn’t hear him.  A bunch of Bruins players started banging their sticks and hollering to get his attention, but it was Brad Marchand...

Disruptive Presence in Bruins’ Defensive Zone Leads Directly to Brad Marchand’s Game-Winner (Video)

Most great goals are triggered by equally great, but often overlooked defensive plays. That was certainly the case Thursday night, when a textbook poke check by Zdeno Chara near the Bruins’ blue line in overtime led directly to Brad Marchand‘s game-winning goal. Marchand beating Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist five-hole will be what shows up in all the highlight package, but...

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist kept the Rangers in the game by stopping 45/48 shots. Brad Marchand had two points in the first six games that he played in during the...

Not A Bad Time For Your First Post-Season Goal

Especially if you're Brad Marchand... Here's how you get a dirty goal for a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Semis... ((HT: NHL on NBC/FredMurtz)) Keith Jones, in studio, admitted that he thought the Rangers had a better Game 1. But, in the end, it doesn't matter... A defenseman jumps into the play a little too much... and that's the end result...

Brad Marchand Leaves Morning Skate With Apparent Injury, ‘Wincing in Pain’

Dennis Seidenberg, Andrew Ference and Wade Redden were all missing from morning skate on Thursday, but they weren’t alone. Winger Brad Marchand left the ice early with an apparent injury according to reports. Marchand left about 20 minutes into the skate during 2-on-1 drills. Newsday’s Steve Zipay tweets that it wasn’t a hit and that  he “may have pulled something.” Prior...

Bruins-Leafs: Tyler Seguin Taking Excessive Criticism As Marchand Gets Pass For Team’s Struggles

First off, I am a Tyler Seguin supporter or a “Seguinista” since he was number two overall in the 2010 NHL draft.  With that being said, I am not going to tell you his performance in the playoffs this season has not been a disappointment. It has. He has relied on one offensive move and is not burying his chances. It is maddening. However, he is battling his ass off for...

Bruins Vs Rangers: Keys To Game 1

After Monday nights thriller against the Maple Leafs the Bruins are ready to try and tackle the New York Rangers. It's hard to tell what we will see from the Bruins this series. As Claude said we are a "Jekyll and Hyde" team. One thing we can expect? Obnoxious New York sports fans and Tort's giving media great sound bits. Wouldn't it be great to hear Micheal...
