PLAYERS: Tim Thomas
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas still intends to skip this season, but Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli told reporters Sunday that Thomas wants to return in 2013-14. Chiarelli said that the two-time Vezina Trophy winner won't be in training camp or play this season. Thomas, 38, is signed through this season. He announced in June on his Facebook page that he planned to sit out 2012-13 to spend with his family in Colorado. The Bruins won't be responsible for Thomas' $5 million salary, but will receive his $5 million hit to their salary cap. "We'll end up suspending him," Chiarelli told reporters. "He will be on our cap unless I trade him."

The Bruins depth and number of returning skaters should allow them to coast to a Northeast title

After finishing first in the division last year with a 10 point lead over Ottawa is there any chance the Bruins fail to repeat as Northeast champs?
