Chicago Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild. It’s a matchup that was under most people’s playoff radar; until last night. A majority of pundits had the Chicago Blackhawks sweeping the Wild. Regardless, this will be an interesting series. The Blackhawks came out flat against a Minnesota Wild team that was at the top of their game in game 1 of the playoff series Tuesday night. The Wild experienced a set back as well as star goalie Niklas Backstrom was scratched from the game after injuring himself during pregame warm ups. No word yet as to when he’ll return. Perhaps one of the best stories of the night was Wild back up goalie Josh Harding, who was diagnosed with MS prior to this season and hasn’t started in net since January 30th, tallying a spectacular 35 saves against a very powerful Blackhawks offense. The Blackhawks picked up the slack midway through the 2nd as Marian Hossa scored off a pass from Patrick Kane. The game went to Overtime and would end in epic fashion as Johnny Oduya ...

Danica Patrick scored from center ice at the Blackhawks game

Danica Patrick attended her first Blackhawks game ever on Tuesday night, and she was given the opportunity to participate in the center ice shootout at intermission. Like most of her racing, she started out on fire, and then burst into flames. Wait, does that even make sense? Check it out as she makes it look easy on her first attempt: Okay, joking aside, she did well considering...

Suter enjoying extended ice time in playoffs

ST. PAUL, Minn. It almost looks like a misprint when you look at the box score from Tuesday's game between Minnesota and Chicago. But there it is, by Wild defenseman Ryan Suter's name, and it is not a typo. Suter played 41:08 in the Wild's 2-1 overtime loss in Game 1, nearly seven minutes more than the next-highest total for Minnesota fellow defenseman Jonas Brodin...

WATCH: Bryan Bickell undresses Minnesota goalie in OT

Chicago Blackhawk’s Bryan Bickell flew down the ice on a 2 on 1 situation and after receiving a pass from Viktor Stalberg, completely undresses Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding. Harding bit on Bickell’s first move and just laid there as Bickell slid the puck into the net to cap off game 1 of the 7 game series.       Follow us on Twitter: @RealSportsKings @kettner_sk

You gotta love Twitter timelines and WordPress time stamps. Danica Patrick showed up for Game 1 of the Chicago Blackhawks series with the Minnesota Wild, sitting in the...

Wild-Blackhawks Preview

The Minnesota Wild got a terrific effort from Josh Harding in a tough spot. Ryan Suter helped Minnesota keep Chicago's high-powered attack in check, and the Wild still lost Game 1 to the Blackhawks. The problem for Minnesota is the same one Chicago presented all season long to the rest of the NHL, and it could become even more important as the series moves forward. The Blackhawks...

The NHL made the "2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series" official today. The Pittsburgh Penguins will meet the Chicago Blackhawks at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Soldier Field. NHL announces outdoor game between Blackhawks and Penguins at Soldier Field

We've covered this before here at Puck Drunk Love; the NHL previously announced that they would be holding six outdoor games next season instead of the usual one. We both believe that it waters down a very special event for the league to do this, and it basically boils down to a cash grab after a lockout shortened season. You have to be blind as a bat to believe that it's...
