Dan Boyle was one of the many names bandied about around the NHL trade deadline. The 3 p.m. deadline came and went Wednesday afternoon, and the veteran defenseman remained with the San Jose Sharks. He made the decision to keep him look smart, at least for now, as he scored one of the most gorgeous goals we’ve seen this year. The blue liner played a part in the Sharks’ 4-2 win over the surging Minnesota Wild when he took the puck coast to coast with some incredible puck-handling skills. Boyle moved around defenders and eventually buried a goal that gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead. Boyle now has six goals to go along with 11 assists this season. See the goal in the video below.

Dan Boyle scores sick coast-to-coast power play goal

San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle must have been very excited that he wasn’t traded after weeks of speculation because he came out and had one of the best goals this year.  Boyle absolutely embarrassed Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter, who is thought to be a Norris Trophy candidate, when Boyle caught Suter watching the puck and fishing with his stick.  After dangling Suter...

Video- Dan Boyle Goes Coast-To-Coast

A great goal by Dan Boyle, but do you take away a little bit of the wow factor because it was a 5 on 3 goal?

The two newest Sharks won’t be making their debuts with the team on Friday at home vs. the Flames. Acquired in a pair of deals on Wednesday before the league’s trade deadline, Raffi Torres and Scott Hannan won’t be in the lineup because of health reasons. Hannan, as we previously mentioned, has been out since March 17 with an upper body injury and will need to miss more time...

The NHL fined Vlasic $8,378.38 for the infraction at the end of Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Wild. Vlasic and Heatley were jostling in the closing seconds of the game. (Video) End of the Wild and Sharks game

Since when is it now permissible to cross-check your opponent multiple times in the NHL? The refs in this game should be punished the NHL’s head of officials for their performance at the end of this game. After re-watching this video, I am more upset because the NHL officials are supposed to be the best in the world and should be held to a higher standard. This is kind of bush...
