Jaromir Jagr’s Bruins Debut Lives Up to Expectations, But Future Hall of Famer Vows to Improve Game

BOSTON — Jaromir Jagr is no stranger to being showered with praise. He’s found success everywhere he’s been, and the fans of those teams have let him know about it. He is, after all, a future Hall of Famer. So you could understand why there was so much anticipation in Boston on Thursday for his debut with the Bruins. A walk through North Station an hour before the game produced...

No update on Patrice Bergeron, whose absence would be a major blow

Patrice Bergeron suffered what appeared to be a head injury Tuesday night Sometimes not knowing is better than knowing. Case in point; last night, distracted by other things going on in my life, I was unable to watch the Boston Bruins game until a mid-way point on the second period. I turned the game on, settled in and grabbed a beer before trying to get updates on the game up to...

Jaromir Jagr Was ‘Shocked’ to Join Bruins, But Is Excited to Get Going With B’s (Video)

Jaromir Jagr is no stranger to joining new teams, as his debut with the Bruins on Thursday night will mark the sixth team in his Hall of Fame career. However, that doesn’t mean the forward is used to changing teams. Jagr got his first taste of his new team on Thursday morning when he hit the ice for morning skate in advance of his first game in Black and Gold on Thursday night...

Tyler Seguin Centering Jaromir Jagr, Brad Marchand, While Kaspars Daugavins Expected to Make Bruins Debut

Tyler Seguin is sliding back to center and he’ll be doing so with one of the greatest wingers ever flanking him. With center Patrice Bergeron out with a concussion, head coach Claude Julien is moving Seguin to center — a position he played all his life before joining the Bruins, according to The Boston Globe. Seguin will be skating with recently acquired Jaromir Jagr on his wing...

Tuukka Rask, Jaromir Jagr Form Impromptu ’40-40 Club’ While Helping Bruins to Close Win Over Devils (Video)

Jaromir Jagr is 41 years old, but didn’t look it at the TD Garden. Tuukka Rask isn’t quite as old, but made just one fewer save than Jagr has years while recording a shutout victory. The B’s newest addition looked right at home alongside Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand, scoring in the second period and celebrating not with his trademark salute, but instead with a more important...

Jaromir Jagr Showcases Aggressiveness in Offensive Zone, Leading to Bruins’ Lone Goal (Video)

An injury to center Patrice Bergeron forced Bruins coach Claude Julien to shake up his highly productive second line Thursday night. Luckily for the B’s, that unit was able to retain its explosiveness even with the team’s best overall forward on the bench. Tyler Seguin shifted back to his natural position to take Bergeron’s spot in the middle, and newcomer Jaromir Jagr stepped...

Bruins 1 Devils 0

Jagr celebrates withline-mates after scoring The Bruins continued their early April success to the tune of 1-0 shutout over the 8th place New Jersey Devils. Jaromir Jagr scored the only goal for the Bruins off a skate tip from a Brad Marchand pass, and Tuukka Rask finished with 40 saves, making a number of huge ones to keep the game in check. The game had a lot of hype leading...

TiqIQ Ticket Preview: Bruins vs. Canadiens

By Matthew Feuerman of TiqIQ, The Bruins and Canadiens never like each other, especially when they’re fighting for the top seed in the Northeast Division. As of Thursday morning, only one point separates the two teams. That one point could dictate who gets home ice in the dog days of the NHL playoffs this season. Each team plays once before their Saturday tilt, which means any...

Bruins add depth, swap prospects at trade deadline

Obviously the big aquisiton for the Bruins was Jaromir Jagr, but we all knew Chiarelli wasn't done. The defense this year hadn't been spectacular and Chiarelli said he wanted to add a defenseman to the mix. A lot of fans wanted someone like Yandle or Ryan or Boyle -- either the NHL unicorn (PMD) to help on the power play or a shut down defenseman to help what's...

New Additions Heighten Expectations for Bruins, Who Will Face Tough Test Against Desperate Devils (Video)

Jaromir Jagr is set to make his Bruins debut Thursday night, and he will do so against a New Jersey Devils team that will be in desperate need of a win. Problem is, quite a bit is on the line for the B’s at the same time. The Devils have lost three overtime games in a row entering this matchup, and are clinging to the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture...

36. New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins. NOW WITH 100% MORE JAGR

Jesus Christ I think I have a huge boner right now.  And now with that, I feel like I should tell the people to temper their expectations for tonight's game. I've seen some people saying Jagr is scoring a hat trick tonight and then is going to pull out a missile and blow up the CEC and then restore faith in North Korea, so let's take it one game at a...

Jagrection Rages In Boston. BRUINS WIN!

WARNING: WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO READ IS BASICALLY ME JIZZING MY PANTS OVER LAST NIGHT'S GAME. LETS FACE IT, IT WAS PROBABLY AS PERFECT OF A GAME THAT THE BRUINS COULD HAVE PLAYED OUTSIDE OF THE FIRST PERIOD. IF YOU WANTED ME TO DESCRIBE THIS RECAP WITH JUST ONE .GIF, IT WOULD BE THIS ONE:  Man, what a game this was. Is there anything better that you can ask...

Wade Redden May Be Headed To Boston

Per a source, @csnne is reporting that the Boston Bruins have traded for Wade Redden in exchange for a draft pick. #BruinsTalk — Joe Haggerty (@HackswithHaggs) April 3, 2013 added 3:24pm, TSN confirms trade.

Pete DeBoer Is Right Whether You Like It or Not by   Bill Sunshine

I’ve noticed a lot of questioning regarding Pete Deboer’s coaching decisions; specifically, his most recent decision(s) to scratch Adam Larsson seemingly every other game. My response: At the beginning of the year when everyone was begging for Larsson to start I said: “He’s young; let him watch in the press box and learn. There’s [...]
