Zach Parise was named team captain of the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, making him the ninth captain in the team's history.
Parise, 27, is coming off a fairly serious knee injury that cost him most of the 2010-2011 season, and he is in the midst of contract negotiations that cannot be resolved until January 1st, the first day that the league will allow the Devils to re-sign...

The Devils' attempt to prove last season is in the rear-view mirror begins Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, who look to play spoiler in a second straight home opener.

The New Jersey Devils aren't too concerned after one game, but this is not how they wanted 2011-12 to begin. The Carolina Hurricanes are also in search of their first win, but at least they were pleased with their most recent effort.
The Devils continue their three-game homestand Monday afternoon when they go for their fourth straight victory over the Hurricanes, who will try...
Either the Pete DeBoer Era begins tonight for the Devils, or the calls will multiply for the end of the Lou Lamoriello Era.
Last year's 9-22-2 start is always followed by "under John MacLean." Unless and until the Devils bury last season's early fiasco, it will be the...
