EA SPORTS, as always, conducted a simulation between the two teams who will collide at the annual Winter Classic.

While not entirely accurate, of course, it’s always worth a gander at what video simulation says based on the information used in the process, such as statistics, injuries and momentum, to name a few.

Action of the EA SPORTS simulation between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are predicted to win 3-1.

So, who has it all?

The Flyers, according to the simulation. That’s right, the Philadelphia Flyers, who loss to the New York Rangers on Dec. 23, are pegged to return the favour with a big win on a sheet of ice in Citizens Bank Park in their home town. The score: 3-1.

Philadelphia’s scorers: James van Riemdyk, Danny Briere and Jaromir Jagr.

New York’s scorer: Artem Anisimov (Derek Stepan, Brad Richards).

Goaltending: Henrik Lundqvist will post 32 saves.

According to, EA SPORTS has accurately predicted Chicago’s 2010 Stanley Cup championship, Vancouver’s 2011 Presidents’ Trophy and last season’s Stanley Cup Final matchup of the Bruins and Canucks.
