The Adirondack Thunder have announced that they’ve signed rookie forward Chase McLane for the 2025-26 season. McLane, 25, spent his last season of eligibility at Colorado College, where he put up five goals and five assists for 10 points. He becomes just the second player without any prior ECHL experience to sign with the Thunder, joining Jimmy Dowd Jr. McLane and Dowd have spent five years playing together prior to signing their first pro contracts with the Thunder. Heading into training camp, McLane will look to fight for a spot on Adirondack’s bottom six. With the signing of McLane, the Thunder now have 16 forwards and 23 players signed for the 2025-26 season. This means head coach Sylvain Cloutheir will have some tough choices to make before submitting his 21-man roster. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a guy like McLane start the season on reserve.

He spent that season as an alternate captain with the Storm during the 2018-19 season. McLane would be named captain for the 2019-20 season. He would play in just 19 games that season due to an injury.
