Some kids grow up idolizing athletes; following their careers, memorizing statistics and holding onto their baseball card just in case they get that once in a lifetime chance to meet them.
Some kids try to replicate what a player does on the ice and some just want the opportunity to play the game.
Some kids, though, have it a little different.
“I grew up the kid of Martin Brodeur,” Anthony, the oldest of Martin Brodeur’s children, said. “ Not many people have a background like that. I don’t think I’m lucky or anything, that’s just me.”
You wouldn’t know their Dad is a future Hall of Fame goaltender or that they spent more time around the Stanley Cup as toddlers, than most NHL players have spent with it in their careers. But to Anthony, Jeremy and William, all of that was just part of growing up as a Brodeur.
