Former Buffalo Sabre tough guy and now former ESPN hockey analyst was arrested and charged with drunken driving early Monday morning near his Amherst, New York home. Erie County sheriffs found Barnaby driving his Porsche Cayenne with a damaged front end and causing sparks because he was missing a tire. Barnaby immediately had his license revoked after failing sobriety tests and refusing a breath test.

He was fired by ESPN later in the day Monday. He's scheduled to appear in Erie County court on January 17th, but the date could be moved up.

Barnaby is no stranger to conflicts with the law. In May, he was arrested for domestic violence and being accused of causing an estimated $300 in damage after he kicked the garage door in an attempt to enter the suburban Buffalo home where his estranged wife and two children live. he pled not guilty and was ordered to complete 500 hours of community service to have charges dropped.

Tuesday, Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita said, "If you allegedly commit another crime, you put your ACD in jeopardy." The ACD Sedita was referring to is called an "adjournment in contemplation of dismissal" that Barnaby reached in July to have the May charges dropped.

Any potential deportation decision would be left up to an immigration judge. Immigration rules outline crimes of domestic violence and aggravated felonies as potential grounds for deportation.

Barnaby has proven to be a menace to society since retiring from the NHL due to concussion issues in 2007. It's quite apparent that he has anger and possibly alcohol issues. While Buffalo is a only stone's throw from Barnaby's native Canada, they don't need to deal with Barnaby's issues. It might be best that Barnaby take his three tires and head back home. But before he does, I wish he'd drive by my house (sober) missing one tire. What a site that must have been.
