Cory Schneider turned aside 35 shots, but it wasn't enough as a pair of second period goals sank the Canucks. Justin Abdelkader and Valtteri Filppula each recorded their first goals and Jimmy Howard notched his first shutout for Detroit in a 2-0 win.
