The Nashville Predators fly to the Motor City the day after being shutout by the Vancouver Canucks, 1-0 at Bridgestone Arena. Saturday night, the Preds take on their rival Detroit Red Wings for the second time in three games. Nashville was able to get the best of Detroit in overtime Tuesday, but the Red Wings will look to change that. The Preds have a record of 8-5-5 and ranked 4th in the Western Conference with 21 points. The Wings are 7-7-3 and ranked 10th in the Western Conference with 17 points. Puck drops at 6:07pm CT/7:07pm ET at Joe Louis Arena. That is what happened Friday night against the Vancouver Canucks losing 1-0, in regulation. Unable to get a point in a close game is a heartbreaker and a knock to the morale in the locker room. The Predators will have to overcome adversity and focus on the game in Detroit. Pavel Datsyuk has to be the number one focus entering this game. After dangling around four Nashville defenders and scoring on Pekka Rinne to send the game into overtime, the coaching staff will make sure that doesn't happen again. Datsyuk is a freak with the puck and may be the most talented stickhandler in the world. Look for captain Shea Weber to try and shut him down throughout the game. The three keys to winning the game is, 1) Shutdown Datsyuk, 2) Play physical hockey and 3) Score the first goal. Detroit: The Red Wings haven't won a game in thirteen days, including five games. They will look to snapping that losing streak against a team they lost to Tuesday night in overtime at Bridgestone Arena. Since the last time these two teams met, Detroit has suffered more injuries. However, some of the people who are on injured reserve are slowly becoming healthy once more. Mikael Samuelsson and Kyle Quincey are the latest victims to the Red Wings' injury list. Samuelsson suffered a finger injury from a shot by team mate Ian White, while Quincey sprained his left ankle against the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night. Head coach Mike Babcock may adjust the lines, but don't expect it to be too radical. Babcock may go with a similar lineup to the game Tuesday night since they were close to winning the game.
