Pittsburgh Penguins (19-11-4) @ Winnipeg Jets (16-13-5)

8:30 pm/et

TV: ROOT, TSN-Jets

MTS Centre - Winnipeg, MB

It's Christmas Eve Eve and the Penguins are in Winnipeg to play the Jets. We're pretty sure that Ross Lupaschuk will be on the Penguins blue line tonight, but we could be wrong. Unsurprisingly, it's pretty cold in Winnipeg.

Happy Festivus everyone.

Season Series: 0-1-0

Last Meeting That Counted: October 17, 2011. Jets won 3-2.

What we said in our recap:

Dear Winnipeg, no one gives a ****. Sincerely, Everyone.

Know Your Enemy: Jets Nation

What they're saying:

Cheering for the Jets makes scraping the car windows or the wait & bus ride on Winnipeg Transit just a little more palatable for girls and boys and men & women when they know "the Jets are are on tonight".

Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:

Dan Bylsma has a Christmas sweater.

Brian Strait has been called up.

Winnipeg Jets Notes:

Even the Jets can easily beat Montreal.

The MTS Centre is loud.

Winnipeg is an impressive 7-2-1 in their last ten.

Favorite Jets-Related Image, Photoshop or Gif:

Don't care that the Thrashers moved. This is still a great Photoshop. Plus, the Jets are the zombie Thrashers.

An attempt at the Pittsburgh Penguins lines from Empty Netters:

Chris Kunitz - Evgeni Malkin - James Neal
Matt Cooke - Jordan Staal - Tyler Kennedy
Steve Sullivan - Joe Vitale - Pascal Dupuis
Jason Williams - Craig Adams - Arron Asham

Matt Niskanen - Brooks Orpik
Simon Despres - Alexandre Picard
Ben Lovejoy - Brian Strait

Marc-Andre Fleury

Zbynek Michalek is a possibility. He's been removed from IR.

Winnipeg Jets lines from Empty Netters:

Evander Kane - Alexander Burmistrov - Blake Wheeler
Andrew Ladd - Nik Antropov - Kyle Wellwood
Tanner Glass - Jim Slater - Antti Miettinen
Tim Stapleton - Chris Thorburn - Eric Fehr

Tobias Enstrom - Dustin Byfuglien
Mark Stuart - Zach Bogosian
Johnny Oduya - Ron Hainsey

Ondrej Pavelec

It's really cold in Winnipeg. Everyone there is getting really excited that the Jets are close to a playoff spot. None of that matters. This team is still the Thrashers and the Pens own the Thrashers more than True North Sports and Entertainment does. It's time to remind them of that fact. It doesn't matter if Cardboard Orpik has to play 19 minutes.

Do It.

Go Pens.
